âSo... We got the exploding diarrhea. Here's my advice for anyone who doesn't have it yet:
It's going to take a minute for the government to pin down where this is coming from, and then issue a recall, because the FDA has been gutted. But, I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt : this is coming from Taylor Farms produce, and you will see them recalled.
You'll want to avoid all Taylor Farms produce in the grocery store. They supply McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, about any fast food place you can think of.
Raspberries, watermelons, cilantro, and the veggies you're hearing about are not causing this many people to get sick. It's the shredded lettuce, specifically, that's the problem. But, you'll want to stay away from every type of produce this company puts out, because one strand of shredded lettuce is all it takes to contaminate bushels.
Taylor Farms is the source. Taco Bell proactively pulled their produce from their restaurants. You're going to see other fast food places doing this, and probably will see that before the government names a source. The FDA knows this, but they can't come out and tell us all until there's proof, which takes resources and research, which takes manpower, but the FDA has been cut by about 20-30%
During the Biden term, onions at McDonald's had ecoli. We knew this because DNA testing was done quickly and they were able to narrow it down to one place that caused the outbreak. And, it was traced back to Taylor Farms. This isn't going to be solved as quickly though.
When you get this, make a virtual appointment to your PCP - a "same day sick" appointment. Tell them someone in your family just tested for this and was positive and was prescribed Bactrim. If you go in person, they're probably going to make you poop in a cup and wait until results come back to prescribe.
You'll know when you get this. Trust me on all of this.
You'll want to stay hydrated because this parasite damages the lining of the small intestine. Your small intestine, in turn, secretes more water into the gut, and less nutrients and liquid are able to remain in the body. So no matter how much you shit, you're going to want to drink. A day of this leads to dehydration if you don't increase your fluid intake, and a few days will land you in the hospital.
If you have headaches, weakness, muscle cramps, dizziness, or an increase heart rate - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Go to the ER for fluids if you can't drink enough.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Brought to you by America's 250 birthday celebrations, workforce reduction in the FDA and CDC, and viewers like you.
Please feel free to share this.
And, MAGA - don't blow up the comment section. I argued with y'all on COVID bc I was afraid y'all would die, but I really don't care if you get explosive diarrhea.
And no, ivermectin will not help this at all.â
not everything in a story has to or should be "realistic" but in my opinion there's a level of illusion that should be maintained, and I think that's the actual problem that many people try to pinpoint with the "unrealistic" criticism. Dialogue shouldn't be written like an actual transcript of human speech, but should contribute to the illusion of a real person speaking. A character is a tool of the story, not a narrative, but we're trying to maintain the illusion that they are a person. Worldbuilding should exist to serve the story, not to be a perfect simulacrum of how every aspect of nature/society etc. would actually play out for real. But there should be the illusion that it could be real, that organizations and systems would operate in such a way, that people might behave in such a way.
in conclusion: "Is this realistic?" <<wrong question. "Does this serve the illusion or disrupt it?" <<now we're talking
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream off, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.
This is actually what I was adviced to do at the work rehabilitation program I went to. Hasn't left my mind since. 10/10 solid advice

Iâm going to reference a widely-used term in public education to explain why I think AI may be softening our brains
âWhoever is doing the thinking is doing the learning.â
By asking artificial intelligence to do tasks that otherwise take minimal brain function, you are literally sacrificing the neural pathways your brain has built in order to do that task.
Imagine a world in which AI suddenly disappears. All of the skills you left to AI would essentially need to be relearned. That would be far more inconvenient than just taking care of the task yourself.
âWhoever is doing the thinking is doing the learning.â
THIS.
It's not that using AI or machine learning to do specific tasks is inherently a bad thing, just because it's AI technology. It's that you can't offload your own learning and skills development to AI. You can offload rote tasks that aren't developing your skills, but you can't offload yourself. You end up just giving that away, and it costs far more to buy it back.
There's a great term called "Cognitive Debt," which basically represents the intellectual atrophy you get from not exercising your brain. Originally the phrase was used in Alzheimer's research to describe mental decline but it's crossed over into AI studies.
PDF | This study explores the neural and behavioral consequences of LLM-assisted essay writing. Participants were divided into three groups:
Your mind is a muscle.
âIn contemporary American usage, âChristianâ can describe someone who runs a food pantry and it can also describe someone who votes to defund one, and the culture contains no real mechanism that finds this contradiction structurally significant. The label has become less a descriptor of practice, then, and more a marker of tribal location. Once you start to see it in that way, some interesting problems follow.â
â The Man Outside the Gate
Actually I love the two throuples in Sense8 because one is Kala in love with her husband Rajan but also kinda cheating on him emotionally (and then sexually) with her boyfriend Wolfgang that she's mentally linked with and then when Rajan finally meets his wife's boyfriend his reaction is
And then Lito,Hernando and Dani doing this

letâs talk about how they made it impossible to function without a phone and digitalised everything and then turned around and went âactually! these phone things arenât safe for kids but itâs magically ok once youâre eighteen. guess youâll have to have your life dictated by your parents now lol cause weâre gonna take the devices away from you. ITâS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD WHY ARE YOU COMPLAININGâ
ok my apologies. take away my ability to buy anything too ig because these fuckass stores donât accept cash anymore. take away my ability to communicate with people outside my house and school because I canât text and I canât email and I cant drive to them either and I canât even fucking get public transport without a phone either. canât order at a fucking restaurant without being asked to get a membership and install an app and also very sorry but you can only order through our online menu now! have you ever considered that itâs not just about instagram?
Everyone is so weird about people who cry easily. Fellas, is it evil and manipulative to *checks notes* have an involuntary stress response?
actually a coworker of mine said something interesting about this. I was saying that I truly canât help how easily I cry, and I hate when people assume I do it on purpose.
and he paused for a second and then said, âwhen youâve been taught from a young age that crying is weak and you should train yourself never to cry for any reason, you assume that everyone else has trained themselves too, so anyone who cries has to be doing it on purpose. it took me a long time to realize that wasnât true.â
listen weâre never gonna run out of ways the patriarchy hurts all of us.
Shout out to the autistic whoâs abilities have regressed as theyâve gotten older.
âYou didnât used to be like this when you were a kid.â I know please donât remind me
"This never bothered you when you were a kid."
Yes it did. I just let it slide because I was taught that I'm "too sensitive" anytime something bothered me. But now I'm finally standing up for myself.
"You never struggled with this when you were a kid."
Yes I did. I just burned myself out in order to do it so I wouldn't be punished. But now I'm accepting myself enough to not force myself to do what I was never meant to do.
"You didn't have these problems when you were younger."
Yes, I did. I just spent my child/teen years with structured institutions like school while not having to worry about whether I had a roof over my head or food to eat and spent my early adult years using up every bit of adrenaline I will ever have to ignore the fact that I've been chronically burnt out my whole life.
So this is not a plea for money. This is something that surprised me, and chatting with people on discord, they were unaware of as well.
Discovered last year I couldnât look at my 2015 MacBook Air without it triggering nausea and migraines, and figured the screen died. Have been getting by on my phone, but concluded I really need a laptop again.
Saved up, realised I could afford a brand new MacBook Neo, and got one.
-And I couldnât spend more than five minutes looking at the screen without massive eye strain, nausea, vertigo, and if I pushed it, I-need-to-lie-down-in-a-dark-room-for-hours migraines.
Looking up MacBook and Eyestrain explained what is going on. The liquid retina displays that Apple currently has uses Pulse Width Modulation or PWM. In order to give the screens a deeper depth of colour and contrast, PWM flickers between several hundred to thousand times a second.
And there is currently no way to turn it off. There are settings and apps to reduce it, but there is no way to stop the screen from flickering. Checked Apple forums, called Apple Support, and the time I could look at the screen kept shrinking. Got the laptop Tuesday, returned it Friday, today is Sunday and Iâm still dealing with a vertigo migraine.
For MacBooks, it seems to vary on the computer model and the software it uses. In retrospect, the issue with my MacBook Air started after a major software update.
And itâs not just an Apple thing. Current Windows and Android screens do the same thing. Thereâs even a Reddit for people who are sensitive to PWM flickers to help find computers and screens that wonât trigger eyestrain and headaches.
So, yeah. This week has been a learning experience. But for those who are prone to headaches and migraines, this may be something to be aware of, cause I was not.

sometimes you rewatch Sense8 for the plot, sometimes you rewatch Sense8 for the character bonding, sometimes you rewatch Sense8 to watch queer characters not die and actually have a very happy ending, sometimes you rewatch Sense8 for the healthy, mature, and supportive romantic and platonic relationships portrayed in the show, sometimes you rewatch Sense8 for the action sequences, sometimes you rewatch Sense8 for the music and party moments that alter your brain chemistry, sometimes you rewatch Sense8 for the fucking orgies and the beautifully done sex scenes, sometimes you rewatch Sense8 just for the fucking awesome cluster transition shotsâ every time theyâre walking around and suddenly all other 7 of âem pop outta nowhere seamlessly or that fucking shot of Wolfgang walking down the alleyway and heâs visiting all his other selves and they turn up to follow behind him as they all line up into one and then in the restaurant with lila- the shot of them all rising behind himâ
there are so many fucking reasons to rewatch this show.
it is part of why âyouâre the racist for calling me racistâ is legible. what theyâre saying is, âyou are the mean one for insulting me and e
