high functioning treatment resistant depression is like this: recovery activity you don't want to do. cry. go to work. recovery activity. spend a day too tired to move and too sad to sleep. recovery activity. go to work and cry at work. meal prep. all food is evil. recovery activity you do really want to do but after having done it you are more tired and more sad. recovery activity again because you aren't allowed to stop. burn yourself out on recovery. beat yourself up for not trying to recover. go to work. take a nap in your car instead of eating lunch. recovery activity. taxes. doctor's appointment. go to work.

and then keep all doing that forever, and it's awful the whole time.
