Listen up. There is literally an app that can help you avoid self harm and I donāt know why we arenāt talking about it.

Itās also totally FREE.
once again, itās called CALM HARM
SIGNAL FUCKING BOOST
WHY WOULD YOU NOT REBLOG. IDGAF ABOUT YOUR BLOG THEME
For anyone that needs this!
Please itās gREAT.
This app is really great. Seriously.
They also have an app called Clear Fear for all of those who have anxiety!
It has a safety net feature where you can put in your contacts and call them from inside the app
It also tells you about the different kinds of anxiety so youāre not confused on what kind of anxiety you have
And itās free!!!
Reblogging again
Boost
Question- does the anti self harm one work for picking disorders? I would really like something to help me stop trying to claw the flesh from my body.
try it and report back
@whumpingmydarlings Iāve used this before and itās good. Might help you too :)
Bless, Iāve heard of this!
This is so important for people to have on hand. I donāt care if youāve got anxiety, mental issues, or even having a bad dayā¦this could save lives. Why is this app NOT already pre-installed on every phone?!
This is the only tiktok youāll ever need, Iāve made about 13 of these and Iām not stopping anytime soon
Iām reblogging again because I did it myself and added pictures for those who have trouble learning from the video.
First take a standard rectangular piece of paper (I used one from a small notebook which I ripped out then cut the holes off)
Then fold in half touching the shorter side to the opposite shorter side.
Fold again making the new shorter side touch the other new shorter side
I did this one more time, but this time I unfolded it right after to get back to where it was only folded twice. It should have left a crease in the paper.
Using this crease, fold the corners up alongside it to look like this
This are also going to be unfolded, but this time youāre going to push in alongside the triangular folds you just made and undid.
Doing this once will result in this
Hold tight because tumblr wonāt let me add more pictures. Iāll reblog will the rest of the instructions
Continuing on,
Do the other side of you havenāt already to get this
Youāll open these newly created flap to change which parts are touching
Leaving you with this
Then you start pulling the top ātabsā down
Do both sides to get the final folded form
Decorate as desired.
Hope this helps!
Ratio for the rectangle size is 2:3
So 6 cm by 9cm
I uh, lost an evening:
Thanatos knows that I hecking love cute origami, and moths, so really, what was I supposed to do, scroll past and not take the opportunity to make butterfly and moth page markers???
This is pretty cool. Beats paper footballs any day!
Surprise surprise, that person's feed was straight up antivax (they even had a nice post there straight up blaming China for the entire thing). So far OP's post checks out entirely. Discriminate the fuck out of these idiots.
Treat them like you'd treat a potential sexual partner who refuses to disclose their STD test results. Sure, they have the right not to disclose private information, but if they opt for that right, you have every right to say hell no to fucking with them.

ITāS MARCH
Uh⦠Itās still Mayā¦
Itās august
Itās September
thank god for the mythbusters though because it used to be that whenever i knew i had insomnia iād just kind of accept it and stay up doing whatever until my morning classes and spend the day feeling like shit
but then they did an episode where they established that even just fucking laying there for a half hour, not even sleeping just laying there and not even for an hour, makes a significant difference and youāll feel way better
it has made a huge difference in my life to know that itās okay if i canāt fall asleep, it takes a lot of the pressure off and ironically helps me fall asleep better
ā¦i did not know this, thank you
If anyone wants to look it up, the episode was specifically the Deadliest Catch crossover ep, and the myth was that itās better/safer when working a 30 hour shift to take a 20 minute nap every six hours rather than try to power through. They did an obstacle course test, one without naps and one with, and even though they couldnāt even sleep half the time the naps resulted in their scores doubling.
So actually I undersold it, even if itās 7:40 and your alarm goes off at 8 just lie down and shut your eyes and it will still be better than nothing
This was immensely huge for me as someone with anxiety issues. I used to drive myself delirious trying to ācalm down before I went to sleepā by staying up and just working myself into a panic. Having this knowledge and knowing that laying down and closing my eyes is a better option and counts as rest was way more helpful, eased my mind and actually sends you to sleep faster.
I wanna know their names
Their names are Carlos Polanco, Carl Snyder and Alex Hall and they defeated the Harvard debate team on the topic of access to education for undocumented childrenĀ
Reblogging again for the names
reblogging twice so y'all fucking know
I will reblog this every time.
Literally this.
Getting dirty, asking questions, being unapologetically enthusiastic about things, going overboard on projects. These are a few of my favorite things.
This is so heartbreaking, but so true.Ā
And itās even more heartbreaking when you see the transition and how performative it is.
I was a camp counselor at a science/nature camp when I was 16, for a bunch of 10 and 11 yr old girls. And one day while we were waiting around for the naturalist to come get us to go on the dayās hike, the boys cabin we were grouped with was exploring the area and overturned a log and found a salamander. One of the boys picked it up and they brought it over.
My girls all went āewww, gross, keep it away!ā
ā¦right up until I said āwhoa, cool, can I see it?ā
This boy handed me the salamander and all of a sudden my girls were clustering around. They wanted to hold it. They were asking questions about it. They had stories of other times theyād seen a lizard or caught a frog or something. A couple of them went with some of the boys to look under another log and see if they could find another one.
All they had needed was permission to be curious, to show interest instead of disgust. And as soon as someone they were looking to for cues on āhow to be a girlā showed interest, as soon as they didnāt feel like they had to perform socially-acceptable girliness and pretend to be grossed out in order to gain adult approval, all that natural curiosity and the fascination most kids have for the natural world just came bubbling right up.
As a female engineer, I have to reblog this.
fuck a break up, have you ever gotten emotionally attached to a scene and then realized it doesnāt work so you have to remove it from your story

Twitter (2020) VS the Hays code (1930)
Maybe the Hayes code wasnāt that bad
Imagine knowing this little about history. The Hays code weāre so apparently keen to bring back included the following:
āMiscegenationā (interracial relationships) were not allowed.
Sex hygiene and venereal diseases were not appropriate subjects.
Homosexuality was not to be depicted.
Ridicule of the clergy was not allowed.
Religion could never be depicted in a mocking manner.
Words like āGod,ā āLord,ā āJesus,ā āChrist,ā āhell,ā and ādamnā could not be used unless it was in connection with religious ceremonies.
But yeah letās fucking bring back the Hays code because sex is evil. You fucking lemmings. The point is that the Hays code was a horrible, immoral piece of bullshit that was only there to enforce white supremacy and Christianity on screen, and the reason people compare you to them is because of this absolutely brain-numbing tomfoolery.
Good lord, weāve really reached āmaybe the Hayes code was goodā levels of purity culture. Yikes.
Because of the Hayes Code, women were no longer portrayed as independent beings. Instead they were reduced to mere appendages to men.Ā
Some references: Ā Wikipedia,Ā The Hays Code Made Hollywood Hell On Earth For Women,Ā Uncensored: Gender Roles and the Dismantling of the Picture Production Code, A Series of Splices,Ā The Origins of Classic Hollywoodās Male Gaze
Itās driving me nuts because I canāt find the quote, but one of the rationales for the Code I read in a film history book was (paraphrased) āIf itās not fit for a child to watch, then itās not fit for anyone.ā And gosh, doesnāt THAT sound familiarā¦
Homosexuality actually could be depicted under the Hayes Code! By irredeemable villains!! Or people who died because of it!!!
If youāve ever wondered why media has so much sh*tty stereotypes about homosexuality and villainy, or the bury your gays trope exists, well look no further than the Hayes Code and its wide reaching impact on generations of media makers! Our current rating system? Was actually an improvement on the Hayes Code.
Feel free to miss me with that bullsh*t, thanks.
