laughing about the idea of the contrast of a situation in which shane is thinking about the logistics of what it means that ilya is at odds with his family but they're not married yet so who gets to make important decisions about him? could someone tell shane he couldn't see him if something happened? could someone else decide where he's buried? how he's buried? would they send his body back to russia, where shane might not even be able to visit his grave if the world finds out he's gay?
