Jokes aside, I think PK is probably kinda arrogant, as any god would be. He probably thinks “well, MY daughter is strong enough to defeat a sovereign of another kingdom, if she wants to go do that, she can go”. (As he thought his other child was strong enough to handle another sovereign the Radiance)

Just me realising that to finish this comics I’ve made in November I’d have to revert to my old art style (which was extremely time consuming) to make it look cohesive.

I have watched the recent films and loved them.

Then I watched Sonic Prime and loved it too.

Then I thought: oh I should try games.

I have played one when I was a child, but couldn’t remember which one, turned out it was referenced in this recent game I bought lmao.

So I bought Sonic X Shadow Generations. I like both characters, so it made sense to buy a game with them both.

Anyway

Is a fucking rage bait factory for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a stranger to hard games, my favourite game series of all time is Hollow Knight series.

But man

I can’t with this Sonic game. My hands hurt. And my pride hurts too. I push the joystick 1 mm to the right AND I’M DEAD IN THE DITCH and I have already missed a turn to get a red star. And I have to start again.

AND IT PISSES ME OFF

And it feels like I suck at the game horribly and it’s not fun to me that way 😔

PK’s rude ass interrupts others all the time. If it was Herrah, she would tell him off, Monomon would stare at him, unimpressed and Lurien loves his fork king, so he is used to being interrupted.

The Pharloom abduction Part 1

There have been a lot of asks about how Hornet gets to Pharloom in my ask box. So I decided to make a separate comic about that.

Also it’s completely my headcanon, but I like to think that PK does sense beings in his kingdom, especially powerful once (like siblings and Hornet), because:

1) He is a Wyrm and their whole shtick was making kingdoms, so it makes sense that he would feel whatever is going on in his kingdom.

That shit is hilarious every time.

Even when it’s not “erasing the white background to show a done thing underneath”. Even when they try to mimic a real art process - it’s always obvious and always hilarious.

I think it would be pretty funny if Shakra followed Hornet and Lace back to Hallownest and maybe met Cornifer and Iselda, or maybe the nailmasters!

Or maybe more scenes with Vespa? I love herrrrr

Since he was very rude to the Little Ghost during the events of the game, I’m now punishing him by EMPLOYMENT!

The Colosseum didn’t go so well for him, but he survived (probably got healed by PK or something) and since he craves battle and glory so much - he joined the City Watch and works under Hegemol. Don’t worry for him, Hegemol is a great and kind bug, they have a very hilarious dynamic of a very rude + very sweet. (The Duo I just made up)

Now to the question: I’m not sure which part of the process you are interested in, so I will tell my process entirely.

First I create a line art layer. Then I duplicate it.

The first Line 1 layer I set to 67% opacity (I know, I KNOW, I started doing BEFORE the meme I SWEAR).

The second Layer 2 is set to overlay and 100% opacity.

That way, I can erase the first one to get that “transparent effect”.

After this I start colouring. All of the colouring layer are set AFTER the both line art layers.

In the colouring I tend to stick to the colours i already used, avoiding bringing in new colours to keep the piece cohesive. If I’m making a comics with multiple pages, then the colours are repeated on all pages. For example, the colours for Hornet’s cloak are the same as colours used later for Herrah’s head piece.

For shading I take a background colour 1 and layer it on top of the red cloak colour 2 in lowered opacity and get the cohesive colour 3.

If something is white like PK is, I avoid going down the colour wheel to use simple grey for shade, because I want colours to POP. As you can see, they all are at the top of the colour wheel, but on the different parts of it.

The Hornet baby pictures Herrah shows to Lace after the meeting

This banger comments under my post inspired me to draw a baby Hornet portrait, that is hanging in the Deepnest (inspired by adorable Vanessa Stockard cat paintings)

It’s not a stupid question! Also I love getting asks!

I would like for other members of Silksong cast to be alive (except for GMS, sorry, she has to go).

The two divas should stay slaying (Widow and the First Sinner), but I’m not sure if I’ll be making comics of them visiting Hallownest. Mainly because I’m not sure how they will be received by Herrah and the other weavers, who fled to Hallownest with her.

I have too many questions ☝️🤓

Ah, I think at first I simply wanted the core cast to survive (that’s why I called it “Everything is good and well”), so I haven’t thought about the logistics, to be honest.

Let’s say it like this:

Infection happens, it gets to a point where everything is so bad, that the vessels do get created and Hornet is born. Because Hornet was created as a bargain for Herrah to lay down as a Dreamer and removing all of which the vessels have gone through makes them absolutely different characters.

But

Another salvation comes right before the Dreamers lay down to sleep. So PK never closes the Abyss, every vessel, that was born is now running around the Hallownest. Hornet gets to have her mom. And the Five great knights are there too, Ze’mer gets to be with her lover and so on.

But the kingdom is devastated after the infection outbreak, the bugs need healing and the infrastructure suffered. I kinda imagine that infection takes a toll on a bug’s body, you know, and also infected are aggressive and probably ruined some infrastructure.

So PK is there to raise his children and also help the kingdom recover (he has his hands full).

You actually bring up a great point, I honestly kinda forgot about that part.

I suppose, yes, they let them splash in the Void sea, for enrichment 🤭

Unintentionally went a bit too hard on this ask 😭

It’s just that I think there is an interesting dynamic here to explore: Lace comes into this meeting expecting PK to be like her mother - the Monarch, who must be obeyed at all costs. PK wishes to know about his special interest - the Void, so he asks her about it. And well, you can imagine for Lace it wasn’t a great experience, she wasn’t built to withstand it, she doesn’t want to talk about it, hasn’t processed it yet herself, but can’t disobey the Monarch, who asked the question.

And PK just lets it go. Because you know, his whole thing was about the Kingdom of bugs with free will, sapience, knowledge and all that jazz…
