can't have cricket up there cause he looks like a monster. can't have dennis up there because he's "the" straight man

but you also just end up sounding insane. you mean the two characters canonically, legally considered ex-husbands? you think they're just platonic father and son? you don't think maybe charlie could have had ulterior motives suggesting he and frank become "friends with benefits" instead of suggesting that frank adopt him? charlie doesn't demand shelley get a blood test, just frank, who he has been sleeping with.

THANK YOU SO MUCH <3 and thank you for this ask. this is going to be extremely embarrassing for me.

if i could magically do whatever i wanted my priority would be to have a charlie-and-frank-confront-the-nature-of-their-relationship-and-feelings-for-each-other scene. please come along with me as i illustrate the kind of confrontation i am imagining:

before the episode titles came out and we learned of Frank Marries A Corpse (which is too baffling for me to try and figure out. weekend at bernie's style wedding??? idk) i had this total fanfiction fantasy in my head for the continuation of what was set up in s17 which was charlie making a dramatic objection at frank's wedding lol. the rest of the gang trying to prevent charlie from ruining the wedding because it benefits them (sam seems like she can fix frank and frank's getting on a better path, the twins trying to get their hands on chicken money inheritance, etc), but because they don't understand charlie's true motivations, they're unable to stop him (let's say, eg. trying to pay off the waitress to be charlie's date to the wedding so he'll behave, but he's not interested)

charlie objecting BECAUSE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME AND YOU, MAN :( oh god charlie wanting to be married to frank is everything to me why has this happened/come up multiple times in the show already. and frank did not realise charlie had feelings like this about him… some kind of revelation on frank's side that this is what he truly wanted all along… after everyone is so keen on frank changing and becoming a better person, charlie declaring he loves frank the way he is (that conflict is the beauty of charfrank to me, ahh)... choosing to just be themselves and rejecting the notion that they have to be in an easily defined relationship and deciding they can make something work… AND THEY EMBRACE <3

*sobbing* ok but my fanfiction aside, i just want them to make up after the drama of the past 2 seasons SOMEHOW. and then the sideplots for the rest of the season would be just going even more HAM on the implication that something weird is going on behind closed doors. like the little moments that happened all the time whenever the bed sharing, nightcrawlers, jealousy, etc is acknowledged that the gang have been able to move past and ignore, now those moments are even worse and more "incriminating". I'm Starting To Be Unable To Move Past This, Charlie and charlie refusing to explain anything about how his and frank's new arrangement works. what, are you like, a couple now? pfft, no, of course not. when clearly they are.
