Jean motherfucking Moreau!!
Corvisquire: each of himself Kevin and Riko started raising rookidee from a young age. Jean, however, was not allowed to win battles against either of them. Corvisquire is extremely protective of Jean, it learned quickly that it was expected to be strong and good at winning battles, but if it won the wrong battles, it was Jean who was punished for it. Generally, it is very unfriendly, like a grizzled guard dog. It does not trust easily. Corvisquire finally evolves soon after jean goes to the Trojans
Umbreon: Jean gets an eevee in the nest when one comes through for whatever reason that Riko doesn’t want ‘cus it’s lame/weak/cutesy etc. because of riko’s reaction, Kevin isn’t allowed to want it either. It gets thrown to Jean. It is very reserved, and mostly stays glued to Jean’s side, much like Corvisquire albeit less agressive if not provoked. Neither Umbreon nor Corvisquire blame Jean for their rough treatment in the nest and they care greatly for their trainer
Alolan Vulpix: this is the first pokemon Jean receives after going to the Trojans. It is entrusted to him by Rhemann. It is generally shy and calm by nature, but compared to the rest of Jean’s team it ends up being much more curious and excited by the world around it. It is endeared to jean right away, and always tries to cheer him up when he is sad. In the beginning, this leads to a difficult pattern where Vulpix itself gets very sad when it can’t cheer him up (difference between sadness and ptsd lmao). Corviknight and Umbreon start taking care of and befriending it, though, and it gains a better understanding of Jean. He is actually comforted by it, especially if he’s very shut down/depressed and it just sits by/cuddles him.
Havent made a full decision abt the rest. Im thinking 3 pkmn from the nest and then the other half post nest but i havent decided which mon vibes a lot with the trojans conceptually or who should be representative of Jab (vulpix isnt a puppymon but cmon i feel like thats what works)
Other notable mentions about this half baked idea so far
Kevin: Has a Corviknight as well as a Bisharp, from a pawniard that Wymack gave him shortly after he came to the foxes. Wymack himself has a very strong Kingambit from his glory days.
Neil has a lot of small but strong pokemon, definitely including Mimikyu so far. I’m also considering a tinkatuff/tinkaton, as well as a Zoroa, though/becase im considering Jean with hisuian zoroa or Andrew with a Zoroark.
Andrew has intimidating strong Pokemon, despite generally not giving a shit about battle (/canon). He has a Houndoom and Luxray that he raised from first evolutions, and maybe a Hakamo-o that hasn’t yet evolved.
Jeremy has a (fire type) nine-tails :)
