Will’s fingers tangle in Mike’s curls, guiding his head gently down, pressing his ear against his chest. Will arches into him and Mike presses willingly against him.
There ’s no warmth. No heartbeat. Nothing.
“We lost…Will,” Mike finally surrenders, he can’t resist the finality of it anymore. The sob trapped in his throat is finally released with an ugly hiccup, Mike tries to wrap his arms tightly against the shadow of Will, to hold him, to try to keep him, but there’s nothing there and he’s alone in his room. “We lost.”
