dandy's world, pokémon, danganronpa (/project edens garden), cookie run kingdom (though that's anything cookie run related) and shuten order are the main stuff. especially dandy's world. i fear that game has thoroughly given me brainrot and i cant escape it. though i'll really reblog anything that i'm in the fandom for (or even not in the fandom for if it looks cool). gnosia, milgram, and kpop demon hunters are also peak (man. i should really watch the gnosia anime soon...)

I've kept thinking about it, and while the way Qwel attempted to smear my reputation among staff was ridiculous, it's felt worse and worse the more I've cross-referenced it with how Qwel herself behaves and has interacted with the community.
Like, the way she went about it was funny (I mean, it reads like fucking self-shipper/kin drama), but the fact that she had nothing on me to shit on, so she defaulted to "Snail wants to marry/have sexual intercourse with a fictional character" is... Shitty? I don't think she was smart enough to go for that angle purposefully, but the end result very clearly is that Qwel was trying to paint me as a creep, or worse, an active danger to the community.
Given how she dragged her feet in firing Rox, and what she would later go on to do to people like Sam and Anon 1, in a weird way it feels like for a while she was making shit up about me to draw attention away from her among staff. The way she did it was ridiculous, but the intent was obviously fucking rancid, and even if by accident, she really was banking on the staff seeing me as a threat to other people in the fandom. I feel gross.
I don’t really know much about your side of the drama, but from the sounds of it it must’ve sucked having your name smeared like that.
But I can’t help but laugh at Qwel’s hypocrisy about trying to paint you as a creep when she mocked a minor for getting abused and subsequently hiring a pedophile to work on a game targeted towards children.

there is a very real tendency of teenagers with anxiety disorders self diagnosing with considerably more stigmatized and impairing mental illnesses (e.g. schizophrenia, DID, personality disorders), but the best response to that isn't to get angry with them for "appropriating" lol. instead you show them coping resources for the problems they're actually having and deemphasize diagnostic categories in general. if an 18 year old is claiming to have alzheimer's, they're probably making an innocent mistake and are in genuine distress. be kind.
Also I think this trend comes, at least in part, from how brushed aside anxiety disorders can be. If your parents and teachers dismiss you with 'oh everyone feels anxious', then inevitably you're going to start thinking that there must be something else going on with you
”You must feel very scared right now; let’s talk about how to help you personally, tailored to your symptoms” will always be more helpful than “stop faking (X) for attention”. If theyre that desperate for attention or an explanation, something is wrong.
For the past several weeks, I've just been refining a script for my moth and butterfly short film idea (titled "The Butterfly Soldier"). You're able to keep up with my sketch concepts for these guys in the meantime on my other blog or doodle insta account.

It's worth noting that a lot of the interactions they have in these doodles are not necessarily part of the short film, they're more for me to get a feel for the characters' personalities and designs.
Story context:
"The Butterfly Soldier" was originally a placeholder but it'll most likely stick as the title (it gets to the point)
It is set in a world where other woodland winged insects with similar predators are banded together under the Queen Bee’s rule for protection, in exchange for serving her hive.
Most notably are the historically beloved "butterfly soldiers". Taking caterpillars from their host plant and training them to be fiercely loyal soldiers was their way of saving them from being bottom of the food chain, while also preserving their beauty. It’s tradition that at least one butterfly is a high rank officer.
Most I’ll say is that Thistle and Brambelle have grown apart due to a lot of factors, particularly their differing loyalties towards the hive they were raised in. Most notably, Thistle has done unsavory things to secure his position as a lieutenant.
They didn’t expect Brambelle to be a nocturnal moth so that’s why she ended up with a different job more suited for her.
Media that would match the tone of their universe: Watership Down, Ringing Bell, Warrior Cats, The Last Unicorn
I reviewed just about every animated bug property that exists and the closest to match their tone would be Antz. (Also wow there’s a lot less mainstream bug character media out there than I thought)
Minor update: "General Thistle" is now called "Lieutenant Thistle" since he is relatively young. plus he thinks it sounds cooler anyways. i asked him
More practical info:
The moth and butterfly story are conceptualized as an animated short film. Not sure if it’ll come into fruition since I’m not particularly experienced with this sort of thing (gotta start small). If I had to guess it would probably span about half an hour.
The short is mostly from Thistle's perspective (he’s the butterfly soldier 🤯, no way) but if the story were to continue, it would have more of Brambelle’s perspective.
All the main story beats, particularly the beginning and ending, have been figured out since last April and I'm mostly coming up with stuff that happens in the middle. I'd say I'm about over halfway there.
I’ve told exactly 6 friends the full beginning to end of this story and they’ve all had a similar reaction.
So... I think that’s a good sign.
I'm planning to draw these guys more so people can get to know them; there's handful of cool characters I haven't shown yet.
I'm also hoping to make references for them at some point (especially for ArtFight). There hasn't been much polished art from me because I've been mostly trying to figure out character designs as well as the script. I've accumulated at least 8 pages of me just tryna figure out Thistle's knight armor oh my god. (He still keeps his other outfits but the armor will be his main look) (him having extra arms is NOT HELPING!!!)
