For anyone curious what they mean by the rubber duck, rubber duck debugging is a tactic used by programmers to figure out bugs in the code. To do it, they explain the code, verbally, line by line, to the rubber duck until they find it.

It’s also very useful for writers, and I’ve used it multiple times with rubber ducks, stuffed animals, and my friends.

I literally cannot count the number of times I’ve gone to someone and told them ‘I can’t figure out what’s wrong with my story, please let me explain it to you’ and that was all it took. Sometimes they ask helpful questions like ‘did you remember to feed them’ or ‘so is this all on the same day’ but other times I don’t even need that, it just figures itself out as soon as I try to explain it to someone else.

It’s one of my go-to pieces of writing advice. You’re stuck on your story? sit down and tell me/someone all about it.

I made myself and Link from Zelda in Tomodachi Life. I always make Link in ppl sims so that I can kiss him. :)

And I got a prompt from Link saying he wants to know my mii better (yay). He asked what I could talk to her about, so I said video games. Because I made that her interest, and I make her talk to everyone else on the island about that. Their exchange went roughly as follows:

Link: Vertex, would you like to talk about video games?

My Mii: I don't know anything about video games.

This lying bitch.

Later on I caught them at the diner. And Link was staring at her in her green frog costume that she wears 24/7 and if I take it off of her she gets sad. He asked to guess her favorite color.

Link: Is your favorite color …Emerald Green?

My Mii, again in her green frog costume, staring back at him with her green eyes: You know, Emerald Green is probably the only color I hate.

Lol I'm so mad. Why is she blowing this for us.

Link is sad after every interaction they have. I'm either gonna delete my own mii or make Zelda. Or finally approve the platonic roommate situation he wants so bad with David Lynch.

#it also keeps setting her opinion of him to “indifferent” but that's not indifference that's RUDE #she's being a RUDE BITCH #rambling #and you know what...it bothers me because that is the EXACT type of rude I actually am all the time. But on accident. Unintentionally.#So I can't even complain the mii isn't like me. It is in the worst way
