If you don't mind sharing, what are your headcanons for everyone's ages? We know Wind is 13, "almost 14," and Wild is "117" (tbh I call BS on that, hair doesn't grow that fast, that boy is 118 at least I'll die on this hill), but everyone else is pretty ambiguous. What do you think the Chain's age order is?
I wasn't sure if I had an exact age for each of them when I started thinking about the response, but apparently I do! Buckle up for my favorite big guy, I have a lot to say about him in particular heheh... And the not-so-big guy too. But most of them are just based on vibes, behavior and my own experiences
Obviously the oldest, but not old by any means. He's still quite young, but already an ADULT adult if you know what I mean. As for his mental age, he's not much older imo, he just likes messing with the others. I often see people just adding 7 years to his physical age because of the OoT time jump, but he wasn't a 16-17 year old returned to the body of a 9-10 year old by the end of the game. He was still mentally a kid, which is exactly what makes his story so fucked up. And as for Majora's mask, I don't think he's spent this much time stuck in the three day cycle, certainly not enough to make him a few years older. Now, it is possible that he had used the ocarina again afterwards which would also add to his age, but, well, we don't have any evidence to prove it (at least not yet.. or not that I'm aware of??), so I'm just going with his games. And his Old Man talkβ’? Great Deku Tree influence. As simple as that
Similar to Time, he's already an adult adult, but still young. Being in his late 20s just feels right for him, I don't have much to say here tbh
Also no comments here other than 1) he is a little older or "not too far off in age" than Four; 2) he reminds me of a friend of mine who is the same age, so I just assigned it to him subconsciously
Logic makes me want to make him the same age as Twilight, but he just SEEMS younger than him, I'm not sure how to explain it. It might be because he seems a little less serious than him, but yeah, they're still close in age
I will die on this hill. It feels like a perfect age for Four - still young enough to be a little bit of an idiot, to not want to settle and just explore the world instead, but old enough to have this emotional maturity and (slight) sense of responsibility that he's got. I also like to think that he was at the peak of puberty (16-17) during the FSA events, because if going against everyone and constantly arguing with yourself isn't a perfect metaphor for that age - I don't know what is. Another thing I wanna mention is that I saw people saying him being offended by being called a kid is what makes him younger in their eyes, but as a young adult who's constantly mistaken for a 11-12 year old I want to say - it was really annoying at 16 and it doesn't stop being annoying in your early 20s
I agree with you about Wild's age, he just doesn't seem 17 to me at all, and tbh in my eyes he wasn't even 17 during the events of BotW. HOWEVER, the way I think about it is that he just... doesn't know/forgets how much time has passed since he woke up? I guess at some point he remembered or found out how old he was, and later he just couldn't be bothered to count
The recent update. I rest my case
And then there's Wind, who is such a 13-14 year old that I just don't have anything else to say
