I have 3 Main Templates: Human, Humanoid, and Non-Human.

Would anybody be willing to give them a look and see if they think I'm missing anything?

Feel free to reference or even straight up use these! I’d appreciate credit, like, at the top or bottom say “template by EddeeArts” or such. But honestly the thought of my work helping other writers is just so cool!

Stereotypical looking isekai en media res first episode.

In a fancy throne room, people, arguing about succession or some other important likely complex matter of state. The throne room is aquatic themed.

Weapons are drawn as the situation gets heated. There’s an aquarium in the background.

The situation resolves into chaos, fighting, a magic user pulls the water from the aquarium to hit somebody-

Pause, record scratch, voiceover “yeah, that’s me, the shrimp from the aquarium. You’re probably wondering how I got here” insert typical isekai protag backstory

This is why there are so many aquariums in the castle. And while the king still lives they are mostly well kept.

Isekai shrimp girl has the typical “you can understand the language” type abilities, but her only special ability is to teleport. Of course, she can’t survive long outside water, so she mostly teleports between aquariums to follow conversations and peep the royal drama. What else is she supposed to do? She’s a shrimp smaller than a child’s finger.

I love this idea but probably couldn’t do it justice. Also the first scene really only works in image form, bc the aquariums have to be in view, but mentioning them in writing would likely be difficult to do without drawing too much attention to them before the shrimp reveal.

Ok maybe I could have the characters arguing about the finances and somebody angrily talks about the stupid expensive aquariums everywhere before getting back on topic. But. I think it would be cooler drawn or animated and have them strangely in the background, shrimp even visible sometimes, of every shot until the reveal.

There's a mixture of regular fantasy anime style shots and shots from inside the fish tank, the world blurred by the water and glass.

Shrimp girl offers commentary to herself outside the 4th wall breaks to keep herself entertained, commentating like its sports or reality tv. She doesn't really know she's in an anime but definitely does address the real actual audience of the anime instead of her pretend viewers of her commentary in her 4th wall breaks.

im gonna try explaining myself, cus im a gambling addict and im waiting for the day that it actually works.

"forgiveness" is personal, that's why I said in the post that you might inflict harm on people for which they can never forgive you, but that's their quest. if you abuse someone, you can't go no-contact with yourself. you actually keep living in your own head indefinitely, and ultimately you need to learn to live with yourself in order to continue living a full life without further harm. this is not necessarily an anti-carceral thought, although i am generally anti-carceral myself. I simply want people to like, fix their heart and atone for real with measured accountability & self love instead of dissociating, self-marking themselves forever and guaranteeing their recidivism.

And then he got out into the world and strangers who knew nothing of him treated him with common decency and he discovers the world is much kinder than he had believed

And so he hated himself even more for the evils he perpetuated

But he gets friends who understand him and help him learn and grow and become a better person and fight back against his family’s abuse “without fighting”, and help him learn to forgive himself

But at least there’s Hyperfixations!!! Shout out to Jujutsu Kaisen (and its Author Gege Akutami for writing it), I’m getting so much mileage outta this series

No but like really, most of my “hyperfixations” last maybe 6 weeks, but it’s been MONTHS and JJK on the brain has Not subsided at all, this shots going nowhere. It’s got me in a chokehold. Tattooing itself on my brain. And I don’t mind at all!

Just, suddenly I’m filled with awe and wonder about all the fun and beautiful ways they can incorporate their heritage into their hobbies!!! And that that means o get to learn about that stuff to be able to write and draw about it!!

hierarchy is wrong. your grad student TA is not a professor or faculty and might not even be considered an employee. that 32 year old man is not a full professor no matter how talented he is or how old you think 30+ is, and he should be talking more about "the tenure clock"

grad students only ever taking or TAing classes & never doing research or working on their thesis/dissertation. there are masters programs with no thesis component so i'm sure there are ones that have no research requirement, but you can't get a PhD only taking classes

everyone has too much money. but also if it's set in the US there's an obsession with accumulating student debt for positions that generally you would not have to take out loans for
