a/n: yeah so i wrote this in two hrs last night bc i couldn’t sleep i also did NAWT have my glasses on. i luv tony tho

warnings: a tiny bit suggestive but mostly js a chill morning. basically just morning after. the male armpit and application of old spice fiji deodorant. age gap too, tony’s ~40, reader is prolly mid 20s.

the first thing you register is the soft sound of running water being shut off. you wake up in a large bed that you know isn’t yours and distinctly remember the cologne in the sheets, but not who it belongs to.

you take in your surroundings, and boy, is there a lot of them. the most breathtaking of all of them seems to be the floor to ceiling window on your left that gives a sky view of malibu starting to wake up. despite the few weak rays of sun, the sky is still dark and the light that does make its way over your body is a pale blue that barely illuminates anything.

next, your eyes fall to an open doorway, proven to be the master bathroom, as that’s where you see him drying his hair in the warm light. he hasn’t seen you, though. you’re in the middle of the king bed, with the duvet and sheet pulled up to your shoulders. the dark blue fabric is soft on your exposed skin, a comfort as you make an attempt to remember your night.

when it finally clicks, though? your eyes fall wide, looking over at tony, now in jeans and a band t-shirt with damp hair, noticing every detail of his room that gives it away as his. the watch collection, the pretentious framed art that he probably paid an incredible amount for, the framed picture of led zeppelin performing.

the sound of his socked feet padding over to the bed is largely lost on you in your… horror? regret? distaste? all of the above?

“morning — sorry if i woke you up, i know it’s early,” he says with a smile as he applies deodorant. he clearly is very fine with you being here as he gets ready for his day.

“uhm- mr. stark? what did.. what happened?” you weakly asked him, clutching the sheet and duvet to your bare chest.

“well, if you’re interested in deta-“

he’s cut off with a light kick to his hip when he uses an odd tone.

“oh my god! did we fuck? like seriously?” you exclaim. he is.. smiling. he’s not just smiling, he’s doing his signature tony stark grin that you enjoy far too much. but right now you can’t find a way to.

for a lack of any better terms, tony was somewhere between your boss and your mentor. your superior in any sense, however. he was also much older than you. for five months while you worked and studied under him, these were the facts you told yourself to keep your mouth shut about the crush you harbored on him the whole time.

“don’t worry, kid. i made sure you weren’t drunk.”

you felt utterly stupid for letting this happen. but how could you revel in your regret when tony stark was pressing a kiss to your head, then jaw, then lips? when he was just content to have you in his bed and in no rush to leave?

“by the way, your clothes should have been cleaned, for whenever you’d like them — or there’s mine.” tony nods over towards one of his dressers, and you recognize it to be his casual clothes, even without peering inside. with a soft smile, he ruffles your hair and walks out the open bedroom door, though you’re not sure where.
