my notifications are once again devolving into a spirited debate about the ethics of actions that could potentially make someone uncomfortable, and at risk of sounding like someone about to get a lot of irate anons I think we're frankly giving way too to much moral weight to hypothetical discomfort
the thing about discomfort is that it's an extremely nebulous category that can be triggered by virtually anything and that's far too broad a category to have any inherent moral quality to it. like. my mom was mad uncomfortable when I stopped shaving. that didn't mean I was doing violence against my mom it just meant she needed to get over herself. many such cases it must be said.
initially was just going to draw arkco but before i knew it was already drawing the rest of the family, i love them all too much.
the reason i haven't made any future wha designs before is that it's so hard to predict where this story is going to go! we don't even know if magic will still be a thing by the end of it, i drew these with that in mind so that these designs would still work if they end up not being witches anymore. that being said, if coco and agott end up following qifrey and olruggio's steps i'd like to see agott as a teacher and coco as an inventor+her watchful eye. agott is smart, good with kids, likes cute spells that would make her students smile and has a tender side to her. coco wants to help people more than anything and we've seen how passionate she is about using magic for the benefit of people whose needs are often sidelined. (WHA SPOILERS in the next sentence) if qifrey ends up going blind i believe coco and olruggio will always be coming up with new inventions to make life easier for him. plus the spell that first made coco fall in love with magic was one of oru's inventions, i think she takes after him in this sense.
in this future au i like to think agott and coco build their atelier close to qifrey and olruggio's and live there with coco's mom and agott's students. the color palette for coco and agott's designs takes inspiration from orufrey's black and white/yin and yang complementary outfits, except for them the colors are green and purple! coco's outfit borrows elements from both her mom and qifrey's clothes. agott's has hints of olruggio, coco's mom (who i think she would grow close to) and her own mom (can't wait to learn more about their story). i think coco and agott will probably have a lot of different hair lengths throughout their lives but i love their bob haircuts a lot so i just kept them and updated them a little (coco's is slightly shorter and agott's slightly longer).
tetia will probably fulfill her dream of traveling the world to help people and richeh will continue creating original pieces that feature her trademark magic after her silver eve success. of course, they always come back to the naakiwan downs to visitā”

With so many elections coming up worldwide it's probably a good time to remind everyone that tumblr once got infested with agents trying to convince everyone not to vote, or not to vote left because the candidates weren't morally pure enough.
Also a reminder that they were better at tumblr than most of us, comrade interloper was great at memeing. Like, the talent!
Anyway don't fall for it. There is no morally pure option.
and since I still regularly come across the argument of "those blogs couldn't have been psyops, they were leftist minorities who posted about activism," here's a reminder that the people behind these blogs will position themselves as whoever they need to be to get the most credibility in the space they're trying to infiltrate, and they will post whatever they need to post in order to establish that cover
they will do a lot of that, actually; most of their posts are usually a mix of popular memes (since that's what gains followers) and reasonable-sounding posts about social and political issues (since that's what "proves" their legitimacy and establishes their cover), and in between all of that is the occasional post about how voting is useless and the progressive candidate is Just As Bad, Actually
these blogs are meant to be indistinguishable from real people in left-leaning communities because that's the entire point
so this is also a reminder that you cannot use someone's identity or sociopolitical views as a substitute for thinking critically about what you're reading, especially now that we know for a fact that this has happened here before

Abstract: On 24 March 2018, Tumblr terminated 84 user accounts identified as being "linked to Internet Research Agency or IRA (a group closely tied to the Russian government) posing as members of the Tumblr community." In response, Tumblr deleted the blogs and accounts of these 84 users but allowed reblogs of their posts to continue to circulate openly on the platform. Through a case study of posts originating with one IRA account, Lagonegirl, and qualitative interviews with 13 Tumblr users, this article considers the platform conventions and social norms that were utilized by the Lagonegirl account to facilitate its distribution of disinformation. Posing as a Black woman concerned with social justice but also sharing humorous posts that resonated with Millennials, Lagonegirl's performance shows overlap with existing work on "Left Troll" IRA Twitter accounts while demonstrating platform specificity in the construction of posts.
