okay honestly i dont think about his myth much even though its like right down my alley. I feel like the story represents the fallibility of humans to fall into what is repulsive, and how therefore we cannot be immortal as the gods are. Idk how much i agree with that sentiment but i think that was the aim of that myth. Im a big fan of the repulsive and the fallible and I like how that ties into the entire concept of war being repulsively violent and a "sin" of humanity, and even in a war won the violence was still repulsive. . I also like this myth in relation to diomedes, how his relationship to war and immortality is affected by his father's failings, and how there is a myth where he is elevated to godhood after notably eating no brains during war. i am a big diomedes fan i like to imagine he is haunted by his hereditary lust for flesh. or something
