Y'know all this discourse I see about trans men who identify as lesbians seems really fucking stupid when you take a second to consider that's just somebody telling you they're not strictly a man. Which I think correlates to the kind of blurry gender positionality that many lesbians have long-occupied. I've known a number of transmascs that absolutely fit into lesbianism, who were shaped by lesbianism. So somebody coming out the other side of that identifying as a "man" doesn't really seem all that far fetched, and doesn't retroactively recontextualize everything about their experiences and desires and thoughts as though it's magic. Which I think is the problem with all those rigid, reactionary gender nonsense, is treating it as prescriptive identity-magic rather than descriptive social technology. How about we stop fighting about shit that straight up just comes down to somebody being the wrong way? How about we try and support one another and look for the things we have in common to reach a point of mutual understanding rather than just going around trying to smash away anything that doesn't fit into our preferred models?
