I love when fanfic authors are freakishly unhinged. "Yes, hello, I am here to write a heart wrenching story about relationships and mortality. My medium is Ducktales (2017)"

the thing about "just say you have a boyfriend to make that guy leave you alone" and "just say you are a couple so you can get that apartment" and "just marry your friend for tax benefits" is that they aren't actually solutions to any of the underlying problems, and I'm tired with the discussion always ending there. No please keep going and explain why being in a relationship would solve these issues and why you think that isn't actually a problem?

The big difference in these two vibes is that the gritty detective is usually dealing with a murder that will have consequences if not solved (ongoing labor disputes, serial murders, killer may get a powerful position if not found) while the cozy detective is dealing with unimportant things like a wealthy person dying

The real difference is about 9 hours of runtime.

One thing i respect about Star Trek tos is that if they wanted to shoot a movie about Macbeth or a ww2 espionnage epic they just did it they simply added ten minutes at the beginning to explain the enterprise was orbiting a relevant planet and slapped pointy ears on leonard nimoy.
