Unfortunately, thanks to my fluffiest boye needing that emergency treatment a little while ago, I've not really been able to recover my finances. Even though I did my absolutely best for all of July and almost all of June trying to not need help.

Monthly storage of all our earthly possessions and bills is now coming in at a sweet sweet £520 a month. I have about £64 in my account left as we speak, and that'll be going down by £50 in the next few days as the phone bills come out. What my USA followers would know as social security just barely covers this, and NOT in a timely fashion, leaving me gaps like this where I have basically no money for necessities for weeks at a time.

This isn't even mentioning that we need to scrape together enough for a deposit for a new place, since the current estate agent & landlord situation has turned into a massive issue.

Honestly, I usually put together more of a cohesive overview for my help posts, but I'm honestly so goddamn tired these days. Very funny that my chronic fatigue housemate is looking at me going 'you're sleeping more that i do' but! i still can't get that checked out by my GP!! because!!!! i'm still homeless!!!!! and can't visit him!!!!! ahahahaha!!!!!

Summer sees both a drop off in donations and, at least for our trauma center, a spike in traumas. Trauma centers across the US are in danger of running out of blood for our trauma patients TODAY, which is very scary but, unlike much of the other scary national news coming across our screens these days, is something you can help fix immediately and directly.

Many things that previously made people ineligible have been rolled back. If you previously thought you were ineligible, please consider checking current guidelines!

While O- is the most dire need as it can be safely given to anyone in an emergency, all types are needed! Our emergent release blood is being pulled for patients who have a high chance of death if they don't get blood within the hour. Once they're stabilized, they can have their type confirmed and get blood of a specific, matching type released to them so that O- can go to the patients who need it most.

Blood donation programs are very expensive. The cost of facilities, staffing, screening for infectious diseases, safely storing and handling blood, even the tubing. It’s all extremely, extremely expensive.
