great minds think of dykes
Enid Sinclair and Toxic pack mentality or Toxic masculinity.
Okay, so I have this thought about Enid Sinclair, it's more of a theory than anything else, but I think it's worth unpacking. I’ve been thinking about how, over the course of Season 1, Enid moves from being emotionally responsible ( always upbeat, positive, and people-pleasing) to someone who starts repressing parts of herself. Specifically, she starts showing signs of what I’d call a “conceal, don’t feel” mentality.
Since Season 1 one thing that always stood out to me is Enid's gender expression. Throughout Season 1, she consistently leans into a hyper-feminine aesthetic lots of pink, bubbly personality, cute accessories (Of course, pink isn't a "girl's color," but you get what I mean). It's like she's actively denying any traditionally “masculine” traits, no aggression, no dominance, and definitely no anger. She's always sweet, always accommodating, not Wednesday of course but movin on.
To me the pack mentality she encounters seems to reflect a kind of toxic masculinity, maybe not in the traditional human sense, but through the lens of lupine culture. Think about it: dominance, territorial behavior, lack of emotional openness, performative strength, no vulnerability. These are traits that mirror toxic masculine norms. The pack isn’t just about belonging; it’s about hierarchy, control, and pride.
And remember, for most of Season 1, she can’t wolf out. And if Werewolf are about toxic masculinity, since she can’t be with them, she buries it. She goes full pastel, full people-pleasing. She doesn’t want to appear messy or aggressive because those traits are often associated with both masculinity and being a werewolf.
Now, jump to Season 2 we learn that she spent the summer at werewolf camp, which isn’t just about learning to “wolf out” — it’s also about learning how to be part of a pack. And here’s where I think things get interesting.
We see a very different Enid after camp. She’s more closed off, more reactive, sometimes even possessive. She shows anger in a way she never did before, but instead of it being liberating, it feels performative. She brags, she avoids emotional conversations (like with Ajax), and she’s no longer as emotionally available. She even avoids breaking up properly because she doesn’t want to talk about feelings. That’s a huge shift from Season 1 Enid, who was all about heart-to-hearts and supporting others emotionally.
There’s one moment where she cracks, though, when she talks about “the tunnel.” That’s the only real glimpse we get of the vulnerable Enid. The rest of the time, she’s wearing this emotional armor that feels like it was handed to her at summer camp and labeled “strength.”
So yeah, it’s just a theory, but what if Enid’s character arc isn’t just about learning to embrace her inner wolf, but also navigating (and maybe rejecting) the toxic ideals that come with it? What if she’s caught between two extremes: the repression of Season 1 and the aggression of the pack and what she really needs is a path to something more balanced and authentic?

I swear to fucking god. I would claw out OneDrive from my computer if I could. I would burn down their servers if I could. I would run down their stocks to the ground if I could. I hope every single one of their workers gets a better offer from a competitor in the next 24 hours. I hope every single one of their light bulbs explodes at the same time. I hope every single carton of milk in their fridge will always be expired.
Stop backing up my fucking files.
Stop asking me to back up my fucking files.
Stop taking my fucking files off my fucking computer.
I don't want a fucking reminder in three fucking days. Let me fucking say no.
Fuckers.

Poll: if your mom remarries when you’re 26 years old is that guy still your stepdad or is he just your mom’s husband.
The poll winner seems to be “depends on whether you like him” which is super valid.
Mine watches fox news so “mom’s husband” it is!
My family has a great way of distinguishing between a new spouse you like and new spouse you disdain!
Your mom/aunt/grandma/etc remarries and they are actually a cool person, you use their first name. So if you were to introduce them they would be: Aunt Jane and Bob.
If your mom/aunt/grandma/etc remarries and they are a fuckwad you introduce them as: this is Aunt Jane and her second husband. The implication being that they are very replaceable and that we’re all just waiting for her to wise up to the situation and serve you divorce papers, she did it once, she can do it again.
MAGNIFICENT
Alright, but what if my mom on her third marriage found a decent man, but my mother herself is shitty

I think we all have the desire to be stepped on by Lena Luthor, right?
This fanart was inspired by an image of a fabulous pair of heels reposted by a mutual, captioned 'Lena Luthor.' (Not sure if they have Tumblr, but if you can see this—you're a genius, by the way.)
