Why tf did the anime leave Ryou out and screw him over so much?????

Even season 0 left him out??? This makes me so mad especially when he's so involved in a lot of the story. His own curiosity about the millennium items and his reasonings for traveling to Duelist Kingdom are important considering the spirit of the ring's roll in the series. It's like the anime completely forgot about him and try to make him seem like a one-and-done character despite his importance in the manga.

Like wdym Joey tried to be his friend first??????

There's so much of Ryou that's missing to when you compare the manga to the anime seemed really important and a lot better, especially situations where there was problem solving needed. Or even just badass moments he could have had defending himself or others or his backstory. Even the Dark Side of Dimensions kind of screwed him over too 💔

This panel makes me so sad because in the anime it's like he's not even there but the manga actually acknowledges him as Yugi's friend.

Also there's an entire part of the manga where he literally stands up to the spirit of the ring during a game of monster world.

He literally sacrifices himself for the group come on now

Or maybe show when he was able to hear the spirit of the ring's voice for the first time??????? I feel like this is important because it contrasts the relationship that Yugi has with the puzzle. A lot of the anime just kind of assumes you watched season zero or read the earlier manga.

EDITED TO ADD!!! The shoes already had the gold foil pattern on them. I changed the color of that with the markers.
