A great clockwork city set into the side of a mountain, and also inside it, the mountain being hollowed out

And like the whole city is made of clockwork that's constantly moving, massive multi-story gears with apartments set into the sides of them

Nobody's quite sure what all the gears actually do, myself unfortunately included

All powered by a giant main spring in the base of the city slowly being wound by a geothermally heated steam engine, and a massive escapement making loud echoing sounds that would be ticks if they weren't booming thuds.

And the head-ass response seemed to be, “attention,” because that’s the kind of thing we can expect from British media at this point.

It’s not like the entire world just went through a mass disabling event or anything. It’s not like more and more women are finally getting diagnosed with chronic, lifelong illnesses and dynamic disabilities due to advocacy and raised awareness by the people who were left to suffer before them for decades.

The critically endangered red wolf population in North Carolina welcomed four new litters this year. Researchers estimate that 12-16 pups have survived their first few months, which is a very big deal for a species with only 22 adults remaining in the wild.

Budget for additional wildlife crossings in the wolf's habitat offers additional hope for the species, since road strikes are currently one of their greatest threats.
