I think a lot of fandom's problems would be solved if more people who need some kind of religious structure in their lives actually found an appropriate faith tradition and stopped trying to derive a moral code and a reason for living from movies and TV shows. You can't have a fun conversation about art with someone who is treating that art like their sacred text, particularly when they become enraged that the blasphemous show runners and writers are destroying the True Religion by putting in a subplot they don't like

Key to Mutran and Chirox is that they’re both idiots. Chirox is unimaginative but gets to the point. Mutran is incredibly creative but cannot get to the point to save his own life. Like quite literally that’s how he dies. I imagine Mutran was more popular prior to the Brotherhood’s turn to darkness because Chirox ruined everything he touched (albeit in a more impressive way than Spiriah, whose work was generally mediocre) but when the Brotherhood became corrupt, Chirox’s work became exactly what it needed as he got elevated to Mutran’s level, maybe even more because Mutran lacked a certain practicality when it came to taking over God’s body.

DID YOU KNOW that sometimes characters lie. out loud to others and internally to themselves, and it'll happen right there on the page. other times they are just flat out wrong and don't know it. oftentimes they don't ever find that out. a sizable portion of any story is decidedly not cold hard fact.

Looking back on it, the Piraka were kinda hilarious as villains, and not just for the non-canon stuff like kidnapping the All American Rejects or the fucking rap. The story team was clearly trying to pivot away from the horde enemies they'd favored in Metru and Mata Nui and create a real rogue's gallery with each individual as evil as possible. But they quickly realized that, if everyone is an independently-minded bad guy, they'd all just turn on each other immediately, even though they're supposed to be a united threat against the good guys. And, somehow, the writers try to do both. One moment they're trying to tear each other apart, the next they're walking in lock-step like nothing ever happened. There have been like ten separate coups by the final battle and they still end up working together! Then they go underwater and turn into snakes and bicker constantly but still hang out with each other! Like, at that point, you think they'd have all killed each other if they actually meant it. They're like the most toxic friendgroup you've ever seen, where one week there's legendary drama and the next they're all going to see a movie together. Deep down, I think they really must love each other.
