How to fix a ripped plushie (clear and easy to follow) by ζ΅ͺζ΅ͺε±±ιδΈδΈ«ε€΄ζηΌεΈε
ok thank god there's so many fucking videos showing you how to do a ladder stitch like it's some kind of magic trick but here's the actual use case for it: closing a seam you can't reach the inside of. in all other cases, if you're fixing a ripped seam on pants, or on a tshirt, the ladder stitch is a messy, glorified running stitch.
Essential plush making technique, this one! Very good video, a lot of tutorials are kinda hard to parse for me.
Hey everyone. There's a new youtube feature that rolled out just yesterday that's raising some privacy concerns.
People in the U.S., U.K., Brazil, and Singapore can now share videos and chat with friends directly within the YouTube app. The update bring
This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.
If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.
This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.
To turn this off:
Go to your youtube app settings
Go to Privacy
Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"
Trimming the source id (the stuff after the '?' in links) will also prevent this from happening.
I love redemption arcs but even more I love forgiveness arcs. Yeah, you did that awful thing and it was terrible. No, you can't undo it. But you can still be loved.
current state of the internet is a FUCKING EMBARASSMENT. was chatting with my grandma bout the history of crochet and knitting (and the comparative ages of those respective technologies) and i was like "oh YEAH and also that ancient greek fiber art we partly figured out from chemically testing the scoured bleached pigments of stolen statuary (tumblr knows what im talking about)βgimme 30 seconds to look up the name."
5 minutes and 3 search-engines later i am crying tears of blood screaming spitting blubbering in despair as my grandma attempts to digitally pat me consolingly on the back. the library of alexandria didn't burn it was "restructured" to "increase shareholder profits"
and i STILL CANNOT FIND THE TERM.
i am scouring the internet like the victorians scoured and destroyed all trace of joy and color from stolen relics for the LOST NAME OF THE ANCIENT PROCESS of textile-creation akin to knitting/crocheting/nΓ₯lebinding that at least one academic/crafter used to recreate the leggings on this Glorious Motherfucker:
the google execs erased it. they bleached my bestie AGAIN from history...
is this of any use
SO IT IS!!!
Archer statue from the Temple of Aphaia (ca. 480 BC) next to a reconstruction of its original paint job:
The leggings and sleeves would have created using a method called SPRANG which predates knitting and is over 3,000 years old. What's even sexier is modern artisans managed to recreate the entire outfit using the original method!
Mmm-HMM, love me a shapely thigh in harlequin hosiery. Putπmenπinπclingy-assπclothingπagainπππ
Unfortunately english sources are hard to find, partly because Google's a shithole, but also because this textile project comes from a German museum, in Germany, where people tend to speak (and publish) in German. That said, the original link is to a short-but-sweet article I would have had no problem finding in 30 seconds a mere few years ago. fortunately i have clever beautiful insane people following me, but alas not everyone has such luxury. thanks to everyone in the notes who shoved themselves down this rabbithole with me!
in conclusion let us take a moment to sincerely wish Google a very burn in hellπ

Hey if you See This can you reblog this or comment on this with a character you headcanon as aromantic, asexual, or both. It can be canon it can be founded on absolutely nothing I just need more aroace stuff on here #yay
really love keeping up with my mutuals through their little tags and vent posts. getting updates on how theyβre doing is something like: glad to know your job at the library is going well. iβm sorry you havenβt gotten that raise. glad your finals went well. iβm sorry your teacher is so unhelpful. glad your tv show got renewed. iβm sorry they killed your favorite character. glad that you scored tickets to see your favorite artist. iβm sorry they arenβt touring near you at all. glad your cat is doing well. iβm sorry your mom is sick again. glad youβre feeling better now that itβs your favorite season. iβm sorry your meds arenβt working. glad youβre married now. iβm sorry you have to step back for your mental health. glad youβre still here. iβm sorry life is so hard. glad youβre alive, i hope things get easier for you soon
How did you work out the dom/sub dynamic of your characters? Sometimes sexually people seek out the opposite of the energy that they want in their real life.

Self-reblog Sunday
So, I've been wondering if we could start this trend? I always see people talk about how they feel weird reblogging their own stuff, and I've been guilty of this, too.
But the thing is, it's so easy to miss cool art, fic, gif sets, screenshots, headcanons, and other creations. The dashboard moves fast. A lot of people don't always have time to go through everything that was posted in the last 24 hours or maybe they're not on tumblr every day. Maybe they saved a fic in their tab and forgot. Maybe somebody followed literally yesterday and hasn't seen 98% of what's already been posted. Any reason is a good reason.
I think we should get more comfortable with reblogging our own stuff. It doesn't matter what kind of post it is or if it's from the last week or 10 years ago. It doesn't matter if you've already reblogged it 3 times in the past. It doesn't matter if it has 5 notes or 500.
I've thought that if we had a dedicated day for it and more of us made it a habit, it'd feel less weird? Plus, people who have missed those posts would have the opportunity to catch up.
We put a lot of love and effort into our works. Why not show them again?
Of course, that doesn't mean I want to contain self-reblogs to Sunday only. I've just thought that especially those that feel awkward about reblogging their own stuff could use it as an opportunity to do that. Like, if more people are doing it and all that.
Thoughts?
I'm forcing my sister to watch black sails and she hates flint (gates pushed her over the edge) so much lmfao. She says she doesn't give a fuck what his motivations are there's no way they could be good enough for her unless. and I quote. "he's doing it all for the gays or something"
well she found out what he's doing it all for
