Unfortunately For You Guys I Am Back

It feels like the writers wanted to explore subjects of failure and philosophical questions they had about artist perusing art while failing… and themselves failing at art while doing so.

I feel as if they used characters to explore themes, rather than letting the CHARACTERS and their RELATIONSHIPS drive the show.

Farid explaining that vampires can survive decapitation made the heads cut off scene have no emotional impact…. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I feel nothing. I care for none of the relationships this season. It feels the the writers doesn’t either. They haven’t made us want to care for anyone but lestat, who they want us to like so badly this episode that it feels forced and I don’t. His anger is gone. It doesn’t feel earned.

Armand killing Larry now just feels like a forced plot point to have Alex turn on Armand later on, it had no impact on the story this episode otherwise. Nothing that happens in the show matters or has any meaning to the writers or the characters.

Wow… Claudia should get a voice but that scene wasn’t IT… it was so clearly written by an all white writers room I- I don’t. Nope. I don’t like how this scene centered Lestat’s pain at the end, how it hurt him, and not how Claudia might be hurting… it felt like another forced plot point to bring loustat together than it felt like anything to do with written for or about Claudia in mind. It had the potential to be good but left me with nothing we didn’t get s1-2. It didn’t pay off. Claudia saying black in that moment felt so cringe to me. Like idk the word choices made it feel like her being black was the problem not the racist society.

I can’t enjoy the cute loustat moments bc they feel unearned, it felt like they only had the reunite and have any type of relationship so we care when Louis head got chopped off. Not bc Loustat had earned that moment this season.

I didn’t care. Daniel motivation for revenge feels unearned, I wanted his animosity shown and him killing Louis to have proper build up.

Louis feels like the disposable black girlfriend.

I don’t like how they’re suddenly friendly but not showing why on screen. It just left me feeling unsatisfied. There was no build up to anything. There’s no story told. NO EMOTIONAL STAKES

The bad writing, CONSTANTLY referencing the last season in no meaningful way, plot points going nowhere, the writers talking to the audience through the characters. In makes it so hard to enjoy the good things about this season.

I don’t like how blorbofied Lestat was this episode compared to the rest of the season. I hate how they’re bring up stuff that never pay off. Telling never showing. There was no build up and no resolution and nothing nothing nothing burger just for fanservice nothing nothing.

I’m left feeling nothing but cringing and missing Iwtv.

It feels UNEARNED. I will watch the last episode of tvl and I will keep blogging about IWTV.

My gay woke vampire show turned into the straight misogynist racist show.

But I will probably not watch s4 because this is not a show I’m interested in if this is how it’s going to be.

The trailer we got was better than the show we got.

And then in RETALIATION Lestat is like “Well Antoinette’s pussy was better and she way way more fun than you and meant more than you and Claudia #Justice.”
