Spoilers but not really:
Regardless if you liked or disliked the movie (I personally loved it, honestly a solid 8.5/10), we can ALL agree the anti spoiler message at the beginning was PEAK

In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessibleâŚ
And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damageâŚ
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.
This is Accessibility!
That's so amazing! It is unfortunate that so many people will need this, but very very cool that it exists
That other link seems to be broken.
Thank you so much for putting the working one!
I will add it to my original reblog as well.

You can replace [ACTIVITY YOU ENJOY] with [SCROLLING] but watch out. This sucks bad đ
Some things about this post since getting quite a few notes:
1. If you see this post, highly recommend taking it as an opportunity to set a timer for 15 minutes and switch over to ACTIVITY YOU ENJOY. if after those 15 minutes, you want to go back to scrolling, that's okay!
2. Huge shout out to this popping up in my notifs often, bc I do go back to activity.
3. I think there are times where scrolling is fine. Right now, for example, I'm being connected to a machine for two hours to donate plasma and platelets. Yes this is a brag but it is also a time where scrolling is one of the few things I can do. (Though I will probably also read or watch something on phone lol)
hmmm, this seems to be some kind of curse breaking spell⌠be free ye reader
I reblogged this yesterday, but I want to reblog it again. Diabetic ketoacidosis turns your blood acidic and will essentially burn you from the inside out.
The stories you hear of people dying from rationing, this is what happens to their body.
Affordable insulin isnât just a right, itâs a necessity.
No one should have to die like that when itâs preventable with access to proper medication.
This is better than any snl sketch
when you so shit they gotta bust out a famous violinist to drag you
I can tell that she was NOT expecting that last part.
âHaha remember when murder-hornets were gonna be a thing? What a nothingburger.â
Yes, because the Washington state government activated like a sleeper-cell and ruthlessly, systematically hunted them down and annihilated them.
âY2K came to nothing amirite?â
Yes because an army of software engineers working around the clock, losing sleep, and busting ass till the last minute prevented it from happening.
âRemember the hole in the ozone layer?â
You mean the one that was fixed through rigorous world wide government action?
One of the root problems of our society is a refusal or inability by media to articulate that all those âitâs gonna be an apocalypseâ disasters were not disasters because we collectively did something about them.
The good news is this is actually quite correctable. I maintain my firm belief that we as humans are capable of solving almost all of our problems, when we decide to do so.
And I still think thatâs going to happen. I donât know when or how, but I do know that abandoning hope wonât help bring it about.
And I refuse to let the cynics own a chunk of my heart.

This is the best description Iâve heard for this method, I always thought it was bullshit because I never heard a description that actually explained how to do this other than âtap your head 20 timesâ.
I have anxiety-induced hissing, which sounds/feels different from sound-induced tinnitus (which I have also experience). Sound-based tinnitus actually sounds like youâre âhearingâ something in your ears, whilst the hissing I have feels like itâs âinside my headâ, if that makes sense. But this technique still helps!!
Hereâs a visual I found because I couldnât understand the instructions well
My ringing just went away for the first time in years. What is this blissful quiet.
wait wait i gotta try this, i donât think iâve had Actual Silence since i was like 5
HOW THE FUCK
Reblogging to save a life, and also because, even if you donât have tinnitus, this is totally worth trying if you like new sensory experiences. Â
Queer books I would like to see adapted with the same level of care as Heated Rivalry. Manifesting this for myself.
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas - this would work for me either as movie or a dead boy detectives-eque series. I can picture how vibrant and beautiful everything would be. And I think the Dead Boy Detective style of transitions, the colors, and sense of humor would truly work here. ( also rip Dead Boy Detectives, i'll never forgive Netflix for cancelling you. What we could have fucking had.)
Basically, Casey Mcquiston's entire body of work. The Pairing can be a very lovely and devastating travel rom com movie and One Last Stop would be a great show with specific episodes for each of the characters and their respective love stories. We could get flashbacks to August's uncle and Jane's life too. I Kissed Shara Wheeler would be a teen treasure hunt movie a la Paper Towns but better and with a killer soundtrack.
Monk and Robot series by Becky Chambers - pls this would kill as a cozy animated series. Mosscap just dropping wisdom off to us every episode as we learn with Dex. Soft and soothing emotional lessons, and there could be illustrated tea recipes at the end of each episode.
Green Creek Series by TJ Klune - This is what they should have adapted instead of trying to make a Teen Wolf Movie or new Teen wolf shows. There is enough source material for several seasons and it is so angsty. Yes, it might be a little difficult for the audience to switch over to new main characters every once in a while but it also means everyone's faves get a chance to shine. I want this so much. Pls.
The Darkness outside us by Eliot Schrefer. This book made me sob when I first read it. I know it's a lot to put into a movie but I think that's the best format. Especially, because of the twists. I think each iteration of the pair would be more significant in a movie. But I can be persuaded. I just think this story has so much to teach us about life and how we are living it right now. Plus it's so much wrapped up in one. It's space, it's gay, it's devastating, it's inspiring, it's cosmic and body horror, it's science fiction, it's thriller, it's commentary on Nationalism and capitalism, love and personhood. It is literally everything to me.
All for the Game Series by Nora Sakovic. Look, we are realistically never going to get this. It's so insane but wouldn't it be wild if we did? There's more discourse about it now because it is tangentially related to Heated rivalry being a queer sports story. I would want it to be a show, at least Neil's trilogy. Then maybe Jean's books would be movies because they are happening simultaneously? Haven't really thought about that yet. People would have to get really cool with complex and remorseless characters. I don't know if I could take people slandering them even though they literally murder people. But they are my boys and girls! And I strongly believe that it would technically be historical fiction like Heated Rivalry. This is the early 200s ya'll. Neil is wearing the jorts and bandanna combo and Andrew is buying him nokia flip phone.
Carry On Series by Rainbow Rowell. Could we even get this made without the terf shutting it down? I am truly unsure. But it would be awesome if we could. It's one of my favorite found family book series ever. I need to see the rosebud boy smiling. I need to see competent af Penny who also has a little breakdown. I need to see Baz looking fabulous. I need to see Agatha kiss a girl. This could be either a triology of movies or a 3 season situation. If it was a show I would love an exploration on more of vampire lore, Agatha and Shepard's characters, and the situation between Simon's mom and the mage.
"can't believe Hungary is celebrating a centrist-conservative" low-key choke on your tongue, you have no idea about what the status of the left here is (non fucking existent for complicated reasons) so yes, we will take one fucking step back towards the center after a far-right asshole, thanks!!!!!!!
"there's no left-wing party in the hungarian parliament" okay so we didn't have a minister of health. did you know that? no minister of education either. since 2010, yeah. we have, like, maybe three independent press outlets. they've continuously extended the emergency rule of law thats been in effect since 2020, allowing orbĂĄn to rule by decree. if he had won again we would have been kicked out of the eu and the country's already struggling economy would have collapsed like a house of cards. i can empathize with my fellow hungarians having mixed feelings about a right leaning centrist with allegations of dv still hanging over his head but everyone else should shut up foreverrrr
Sorry for dragging your tags out in the open, but as a Hungarian, what you just said is extremely important! There is a US cultural hegemony in the world and when young Hungarian leftists start to speak about Hungarian politics as if it were the same as US politics that's a frightening experience. Performative activism, the role of victimhood and the lĂĄtvĂĄnyos jĂłemberkedĂŠs will get us nowhere, we actually have to stand up for ourselves and put the work in, both in Hungary and in the US.
As a US citizen, I agree with the above sentiment. Iâm very disappointed in people who just continue to be âwoe is meâ and think theyâre smarter than the people trying to stop political powers because they know that theyâd be risking themselves to try, specifically in America.
yeah bud, thatâs the point. The government is actually already ruining lives, so you think itâs smarter to sit there and wait until everyone else has been killed or arrested?
Yeah, no bud, stop justifying your behavior by claiming no solution is perfect and start working on a solution, even an imperfect one.
I do want to apologize, I donât want this to be US focused but the learned helplessness is spread from the US-centered-ness

was thinking abt the difference in how (some) people view women's products as "things companies are trying to sell to women" while men's products are "things men want as consumers" and like. men's desires are constructed by the patriarchy. this is the problem w engaging w the concept of the patriarchy as like, the culmination of every single individual man's active desires instead of a system inherently intertwined with other systems of power. like men are constructed manhood is sold to you! if you think that everything the patriarchy says about women is a lie but you take it at it's word on The Ways Men Naturally Are. I simply need you to rethink things
From I Am A Transwoman. I Am In The Closet. I Am Not Coming Out. by Jennifer Coates
when you post "The Article About Internalized Transmisogyny" to make a point about masculinity jfc
The Article About Internalized Transmisogny literally ends by making a point about manhood and masculinity and misandry in queer/feminist spaces:
I hate that the only effective response I can give to âboys are shitâ is âwell Iâm not a boy.â I feel like I am selling out the boy in baseball pajamas that sat with me on the bed while I tried to figure out which one I was supposed to be, and the boys who I have met and loved from inside my boy suitâwho believed they were talking to a boy. I feel like I am burning the history of the naked body that sits on the floor of my shower. The body that went to prom in a boxy tuxedo and coveted the dresses.
Because I am not a boy, but I had a boyhood. I was, and am, made to live as a boy and I cannot suspend the perspective that gave me and join in when itâs time to fluster one of those clueless fuckers into anger by calling him a fuckboi and then tell him his anger proves heâs a fuckboi, or to humiliate one with an OKCupid screenshot because weâve willfully conflated the clumsy ones with the threatening ones so we can grab those solidarity faves. Itâs fucked up. It has metastasized.
More than a few out transwomen have told me, privately, they they are uncomfortable with these things, but are afraid that speaking up about it would cause ciswomen to like and trust them less. âI play along,â one of them told me, âbecause in the queer community the only people who defend cisboys are cisboys. I donât want to give up finally being read as a girl.â
Another says âI do the misandry stuff because itâs an easy way to earn queer cred points, but when I think about it it makes me uncomfortable.â
Another: âItâs a coping habit Iâm not proud of. If I agree âgirls rule boys droolâ it makes me feel more like a girl.â
Have you noticed, when a product is marketed in an unnecessarily gendered way, that the blame shifts depending on the gender? That a pink pen made âfor womenâ is (and this is, of course, true) the work of idiotic cynical marketing people trying insultingly to pander to what they imagine women want? But when they make yogurt âfor menâ it is suddenly about how hilarious and fragile masculinity is â how men canât eat yogurt unless their poor widdle bwains can be sure it doesnât make them gay? #MasculinitySoFragile is aimed, with smug malice, at menânot marketers.
This conclusionâwidely sharedâis a product of insulated discourse. What I am NOT saying is: âopen the floodgates, let in the shitty male trolls!â I know the trollsâthey have tried to be my friends, they have tried to sneak into feminist spaces with no desire to learn or listen. I understand not trusting men who loudly and constantly hold forth on womenâs issues and refuse to accept when they are mistaken. Iâm not encouraging anyone to trust blindly. I am pleading to the discoursers: consider that this insulation has effects and try to mitigate them, if your priority really is finding truth amid a muck of concealed patriarchal lies. Check to see if maybe you are saying things and reproducing things mostly because it sounds good and feels good and nobody is challenging them.
These are not discursive problems that only apply to an âundercoverâ transwoman, these are discursive problems that are seemingly only visible to an âundercoverâ transwoman forced to carry multiple perspectives like bactrian humps.
Because I am interested in complicating your definition of maleness and of boyhood. I was born into that shitty town, maleness, in the remains of outdated ideals and misplaced machismo and repression and there are some good people stuck living there. They are not in charge. They did not build it. And I donât feel okay just moving out and saying âfuck yâall â bootstrap your way out or die out, I was never one of you.â I want to make it a better, healthier placeânot spend all my time talking about how shitty it is and how anyone who would choose to live there deserves it. And to me that means considering them with charity, even when they make it difficult to. [...] Because itâs not a small deal that the words ânot all menâ have become entwined inextricably with male fragility and whininess. It makes it awfully easy to insulate the (largely cis-)female perspective on what males are. To begin a statement with those wordsââNot All Menââis to give grounds to anyone who wants to laugh at the rest of it. But here is the truth: not all men are what you think they are. Man does not mean what you think it means. Generalizing harshly and broadly but implying âyou know which ones I meanâ is an intellectual and rhetorical laziness that is not allowed to pass anywhere else in these communities. Because we donât get to choose who our words and behavior affect, we are obligated to choose them carefully.
'women's products as "things companies are trying to sell to women" while men's products are "things men want as consumers"' â The 'active male / passive female' schtick appearing for the thousandth time. That's the core of patriarchal gender and it's everywhere once you start looking.
Also, yeah, while it's cool that I get to stop cosplaying as a man, the things I thought sucked about masculinity were not only gender dysphoria. A lot of it was gender dysphoria. Some of it wasn't. I don't actually think most men are benefiting from the patriarchy, they're just being told they benefit while people are shitty to them.
An opinion without 3.14159 is just an onion.
Guys this isnt even funny. Please stop.
