Things NOT acceptable on this blog: - Sexualizing of children's media/cartoons - Porn bots - Hate speech/ behavior of any minority groups Hi everyone! Welcome to my page! My name is Saxony, I'm 30 and I live in Minnesota in the good ol' U.S.A. I'm also an ace/bisexual. I'm a HUGE "Merlin" fan and I also love "Sherlock" and "Doctor Who." I'm also a huge "Disney" nerd, and I absolutely adore the "How to Train Your Dragon" (as my avatar suggests). My ultimate dream is to be a writer so, if I feel brave, I might post some of my work here (key word: might). Got a question? Fire away! Please, keep them appropriate and clean, that's all I ask. Wanna be friends? Not a problem, the more the merrier! I'm also here as moral support, so if you need to vent or share, send me a fan mail and I will do my best to help you! Well, that's about it, I suppose. Thanks sooo much for popping in! Keep smiling and have a wonderful day! :)
trees are very 🥺 because sometimes i’ll stand under the shade of a tree and look up at it and it’ll sway its branches about in the wind and i’m like oh my God i’m alive and YOU’RE alive. we are alive together and made up of the same starry stuff and standing right next to each other in this moment on this earth. do u feel it when i reach out and press my hand to your trunk? can you hear me? i think you’re so neat. and then the sunlight filters through its leaves just so and that lovely green color leaves me dazzled. it’s just very nice to be an alive thing next to a different sort of alive thing

In the ye olde days, when technology allowed phones to become small but there was no general concensus on what a phone should/ought to look like, it was like the wild west of phone design. The crazier it was, the higher the prestige. Phones back then did two things and they did them with flamboyance.

“It’s easy to see medieval people as characters rather than humans,” Professor Smith is saying as he points up to a slide with Charles Ernest Butler’s painting of King Arthur.
“See here: Arthur has holy light shining down on him. His features are sharp, the crown seems made for him…this moment depicts the fulfilment of destiny. But King Arthur was a man like any other.”
“But Professor,” a boy interrupts, hand half-raised in the universal position of douchebagery, “King Arthur was, quite literally, a character. Are you certain he’s the best example of medieval humanity?”
“He’s also a king,” a girl pipes up. “So he’s not a man like any other. We should be focusing on his subjects to find medieval humanity.”
Professor Smith smiles. He runs his hand through his black hair and steps out from behind the lecturing podium.
“Both excellent points,” he says. “King Arthur, real or not—“
Some confused muttering from the class—
“—is not an accurate representation of the average medieval peasant’s life. At the same time, it is important to consider why he may have been out of touch with his people, and in what ways. TH White implied that what made Arthur a better king was his mistreatment as a child by the name of Wart. He engaged in Arthur as a human being in a way Sir Thomas Mallory, perhaps, did not—at least by modern standards. Now.”
Professor Smith gestures to himself.
“I’m Irish.”
Scattered laughter.
“‘I rarely, if ever, have interest in sympathising with an English king—and I certainly didn’t back then.”
The laughter takes on a puzzled note.
“But.” Professor Smith holds up a finger. “If we don’t humanise our oppressors, we run the risk of treating their actions like Doctor Doom’s attack of the week—rather than something they actively choose to inflict on others. Do you understand my point?”
Around the lecture hall, students hum and nod in agreement.
“At the same time, one cannot forget that a king is a king. Arthur was obligated to execute Gwen—er, Guinevere—or else run the risk of showing weakness and shaming himself in front of his people. Yes, he knew Lancelot would save her. It was a decision informed by trust in his friend and his position in power. Arthur was a man with a job to do; an obligation to his people and his predecessors. And with those duties come human emotion: fear of letting down his country and his father, of disrespecting Camelot’s history. Gwen and Lancelot stuck by him despite that fear, because they believed in him and they knew he would be a great king.”
Professor Smith sighs and clasps his hands behind his back.
“But destiny did not come to pass in the way they expected it. Perhaps they wished they had listened to other perspectives. Perhaps they wished they had taken the chance to live freely together. They wished they had not put so much faith in one man and done themselves and their people a disservice in the process.”
There’s a long silence.
Students look fearfully at each other, passing discreet notes—for the professor looks like he may cry.
“But they were human too,” the girl from earlier pipes up. “We talk a lot about Guinevere and Lancelot’s love for Arthur and the way their relationship is depicted as almost ethically non-monogamous, by modern standards. Yes, they may have made a mistake by not living for themselves, but they were living for the love and hope they had in Arthur. It’s, like, proper Shakespearean, when you think about it.”
“And,” the boy adds, “Arthur became a symbol we can all look up to. He’s still very much relevant in the cultural consciousness—otherwise we wouldn’t be here. Yes, he died prematurely, but he is still the greatest king Albion has ever seen, if only because he has remained a constant ideal which we can look up to. Arthuriana gave TH White comfort after the events of World War II, after all. We cannot underestimate his importance as a symbol.”
“True, especially when we can’t rely on current politicians,” the girl agrees. “Rebellions are built on hope.”
“A Star Wars reference is fairly gauche in this context, do you not think?” The boy sneers.
“I don’t think something has to be highbrow to have academic relevance, Charles, no,” she hisses back.
“I never said anything about it not being highbrow, I just don’t believe Star Wars to be a worthwhile comparison—“
“Really? Really? Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Knight training to save the galaxy from his evil father? You think that has no relevance, you prat?”
Merlin smiles and steps behind the podium, dabbing at his eyes with the cuff of his corduroy blazer.
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.

Every once in a blue moon I write an actual micro and here is one now lol. Hope you enjoy this I decided to finish editing at about 2am my time because even though I have ME/CFS and am exhuasted I'm not sleep tired so I am awake against my will so here have this <3
For @merthurmicrofic Enemy
When Arthur saw Merlin's eyes fade from gold to his familiar hue of blue, he will admit he was left in shock.
To see the man he loved, his Merlin's magic charge forward through the bindings, cutting down the bandits that threatened to take his and the knights of the round table's lives.
He never knew magic could be so protective.
As Arthur looked towards his knights afterwards as he carefully walked forward to Merlin, he lay down his sword.
"Merlin, is not our enemy," he stated clearly to his knights, and murmurs of agreement echoed through the woods.
"Merlin, are you alright?" he asked his dazed friend gently so not to scare him.
With a light shaking of his head, the younger man collapsed in exhaustion, but Arthur reached forward just in time to stop him from hitting the hard ground.
"You're safe Merlin, I promise," he said as he cradled the man softly.
"Just rest now, everything is going to be alright," he whispered, and with a flutter of the man's once again blue eyes he went limp in Arthur's hold sleep taking over.
As he sat on the ground holding his dear friend, his most precious person whom he loved so deeply, he was confident in one thing.
i think it's really fun when a rly specific trope is super popular in one particular medium but in other ones it's just totally unheard of. it's the time knife. visual novel players are suuuuper used to death games but many others encountered them for the first time in squid games. the other day my mom showed me all excited the summary of a super original novel she found and it was about a girl who got reincarnated as the main character in her favorite fantasy book
i'm literally the priest's favorite sacrificial lamb because i am so docile and sweet and i hold very still when they put the rope around my neck and i trot along so happily while they lead me to the altar and they do not even have to tie me down because i lie so very still and only bleat once or twice in my lovely lamb voice and when the knife comes down it cuts through me like butter and i offer no resistance and i bleed so prettily all over my new white wool and my guts all unspool like the most beautiful shining yarn and my eyes are animal and dumb and hold no accusation and every time i die i come right back as another little lamb because the priest loves me so so much and he always chooses me for the sacrifice every time and he always places one hand on my small and twitching nose to calm me while he lifts the knife and he doesn't do it for the other lambs only me because i'm his favorite
To clarify for those who don't know, "free the nipple" isn't about going braless, it's about going topless
No shirt, no bra, completely bare torso, just like cis men are allowed to
It's about desexualizing breasts and "female presenting nipples" and not being criminalized for our bodies if we want to go topless because it's a million damn degrees out. This was a popular growing movement that was still widely known a decade ago!
And the fact that not wearing a bra is so discouraged and stigmatized that people think the movement was about being able to go braless under your shirt in public rather than about being able to not wear a shirt at all says a lot about how far we've backslid in the past decade

"Minneapolis! Welcome to the first night of the Everybody Scream North American Tour! I'm so honored to be among Minnesotans this evening! You have endured so much. And I hope we can provide you with a place to scream, but also to know, it's always darkest before the dawn."
♫ It's hard to dance with the devil on your back, so shake him off! ♫
A fantasy story starting with the protagonist minding her own business gathering firewood, when a demon appears out of nowhere announcing that she belongs to him now. The protagonist demands to know on what grounds, she's never signed no damn contract. The demon is kind of baffled by this, and awkwardly explains that just now her father had promised his firstborn for something, and she is his firstborn.
The protagonist digs her heels in and says no, she never knew her biological father and by the way the demon explained the situation, evidently her father also doesn't know that he already has a daughter, so therefore the man who had made no contribution to her life after he bred and fled has no claim to her as something he could barter.
Not giving a shit about the fact she's gambling her life in doing so, the protagonist makes contact with the local woodland fae, asking them to negotiate on her side. The fae think that this is fucking hilarious and go with her. So, having lawyered up and with a reluctant demon in tow, the protagonist heads off on a quest to find her father and do whatever it takes to wrangle everyone involved into unmaking the contract.
The Exorcist and the Rabbi are partners... When the problem is talkative the Rabbi takes the lead, when the problem is violent the Exorcist is in their element.
A Jewish peasant girl turned moneylender, Miriam, ends up stuck married to the fae king of winter. The daughter of a duke gets stuck married to the emperor, who is possessed by a demon.
The plot is the two of them trying to survive, get divorced through any means necessary, and save their respective people.
