In the lovely world of Gacha games, a lot of characters show interest towards the MC. And it's actually very believable, considering that the MC is usually a very nice and heroic figure.

And it's often one sided or even just a crush. Like a spread of selection before the player. You can just choose the character you like the most, and see the MCs relationship develop with them while ignoring the others. Hell you can even be invested in multiple at the same time.

It's all canon, their crushes but when someone stars blatantly calling only one of them "canon" it kinda pisses me off a lot.

There is a type of people who just chooses their favourite character and ignores all other ships just to push them with the MC...their self insert.

Others are just blatantly homophobic (I've seen people say "Danstelle and Caefly>>>" or "Citlali x Aether and Xiao x lumine") like both cannot exist at the same time.

I think the players should acknowledge all the characters crushing on the MC and just say "but this character is my personal favourite." Than just forcing their choice of "canon" on the whole player base.

The MC is shared by a lot of people with a lot of different choices. Personally for me, I won't feel very "comfortable" if my comfort characters started making romantic advances towards me. So I choose to ignore most MC ships. But I'll never say no character shows interest towards them, I just pick and choose my dialogue options to change the initiative.

So people insisting one ship is "Obviously canon" or hate on other ships because the character "clearly shows more interest towards the MC" when 19 other characters are doing that too, people can have two crushes at the same time.

Sometimes I see that the Asian and Western parts of the fandom are SO DIVIDED over what they like. And yes, I'll admit it, most things we used to like in 2010s or even early 2020s were PROBLEMATIC. Like the yaoi animes SPEAK for itself.

But the thing is , people really need to separate the difference in the consumer and the product.

Especially Pinterest is such a hateful place with those one liners calling everything PROBLEMATIC.

Like let's say I recently started playing Honkai star rail.

It had a very classic like so CLASSIC I haven't seen this dynamic since like 2015 TYPA ship called Renheng (Blade x Dan Heng) .

The angles, the words chosen ,pining, very toxic and love-hate and as much as I hate to say "dubcon-coded" air about it. It feels straight out of Junjou Romantica if it was Danmei.

And yes, since in Asia the modesty culture is KINDA BAD. Willingly saying you want to do the deed is probably not seen as very erotic, maybe that's why those yaoi animes (cough...Junjou Romantica, Dakaretai Otoko, Koisuru Boukun, Love Stage...I could go on) has that very ,

"Obsessive crazy x Denier" typa dynamic is very popular.

Whenever I go to Chinese or Japanese social media they EAT IT UP, but in YouTube it more western heavy places with people who haven't seen anime since they were like five who didn't learn to pick up in that "yaoi coding" immediately starts ATTACKING in the comments.

"Ew so problematic, stay delusional"

I remember back in my days, we didn't shit talk on other ships and yeah, fandom always was a WILD PLACE. We all collectively ran into Sebciel content at SOME POINT OF OUR LIFE but yeah, I just feel like the need to ,

"Prove I'm the better man" has taken over modern fandom in general. They just have to prove that they are better by demeaning real life mentally ill people to "protect" fictional mentally ill people if it makes sense.

Mental illness is so romanticised that healthy people enter spaces dominated by mostly troubled people and get mad when they see problematic things.

Gonna go a bit off topic but westerners trying to "purify" other cultures is not new, they have plenty problems themselves but suddenly only otakus are disgusting, only Fujoshis are the problems.

The first time you hold a pen, a paintbrush, your eyes sparkle.

"Is this the thing, the wish , I've been waiting for my whole life?"

It feels like you've opened a horizon, only for you.

Then you enter the horizon, meeting other who're doing the same. Among thier experience, their determination, their dazzling creations, you feel miniscule, but you keep trying and trying, you change ,you cry but you try to stand out.

Your hobby feels like a curse, your dreams shackles.

Then you make peace with it, it's okay. Not everyone has to be outstanding, but everyone can enjoy.

You enjoy what you do, you do them occassionally.

Until one day you feel as if you're possesed, you create something, maybe in one sitting, maybe at 3 AM , you don't think much of it.

You show them to other people, they love it.

They wanr more, they have high expectations of you.

It gets praises, awes, crossing limits you never thought YOU could cross.

You become scared. It technically wasn't you who created it. It was a feeling, the art practiaaly drew itself the story practically wrote itself and-

How do you replicate that feeling?

Yet the sudden attention makes the old wishes come alive, stirring dangerously within your chest and you can't stop ,you want to create more, more ,more.

Also me : Gets one paragraph, keyboard smash, all caps comments on my AO3 fic with questionable grammar.

Me again : Life shiny, life blissful, wanna live, hapi hapi.

Me when someone tells me it's good and to continue: IM NOT WORTHY OF SUCH ATTENTION AND IM SURE ILL DISAPPOINT THIS POOR SOUL WITH HOW I WRITE IT.

When electricity is cut off from ,the village undergoes absolute depression ..and waits for ur return..

So come electricity,adorn the village..

However shall I adorn the village if it keeps on hiding behind it's serene and secretive woods of mystery.

Electricity is brought by the hands on the villagers, it cannot walk on it's own.

Because if I do not see the dark village, how can I walk towards the path to light it up?

Electricity is alone and helpless without the help to bring itself out, it cannot help itself or who it needs without the help.

Because maybe if it was brought to it, it will light the village up.
