This started out as a Twine game, because I was determined not to code. Well, more fool me — I struggled with Twine styling and hosting multimedia for the first week, before deciding that it still looked like trash.

Week 2, I started doing research on branching dialogue systems in GMS. I knew from past experience that Chatterbox doesn’t work with the HTML export ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ so I instead went hunting for the infamous 1000+ case-long switch statement that runs all of Undertale’s hilarious and haunting dialogue.

After hours and hours of debugging, that branching dialogue system is definitely one of my biggest wins this game jam! It’s so satisfying… hehe.

Didn’t manage to finish the full game in the end — it needs way more dialogue and art, not to mention music and additional options like volume controls etc. But I’m still really happy with what I have!
