a lot of what people are saying in your asks about taylor swift is misinformation. i dont care if anyone likes her or not but i hate misinformation so:
- her husband is not maga. he was known as 'mr pfizer' as a spokesperson for the covid vaccine, was well known for kneeling during the national anthem to support blm, and the 'honored to have the president at a game' statement was an incredibly bland pr thing and likely not his true feelings on the matter
- she is not maga either. she posts support for democratic candidates, including baking kamala 2024 cookies and sharing the photo on instagram with a caption supporting her
- she stays quiet on politics (for the most part) for safety reasons. during her tour, there was a bomb threat. a taylor swift themed childrens dance class was targeted and several children died. theres already a target on her back/the backs of her fans and speaking up about divisive issues would make things worse. maybe she could speak up more, but she's a singer, not a politician. thats not really her job.
- there were no racist dogwhistles in the new album. the dogwhistles people are referring to are when she said that the night sky was onyx, because it's dark at night. night and day are a very common metaphor. opalite, which she used as the antithesis of onyx, isnt even white, its blue/rainbow when the light hits it, and makes sense as a metaphor for the sky in the day. people were also up in arms about how she said in wishlist 'got the whole block looking like you' and claiming that it meant she wanted to live in a segregated neighborhood. this is ridiculous, she's just saying she wants to have kids that look like him. also, there was proof found of a bot attack spamming social media with the racism claims. it was an actual targeted misinformation campaign that many people have fallen for.
- the private jet usage is not ideal, i agree. its understandable though, she had to travel for her tour and she gets mobbed every where she goes. flying commercial would be a safety concern. shes also not the highest jet user, yet is always used as the face of pollution, which is a little weird. (this doesnt negate unnecessary travel, but she does buy carbon credits to combat her jet usage)
- the billionaire thing also isnt great, but thats her net worth not her liquid assets. the value of her music catalogue is 900M and she clearly values owning it and won't sell. she also donates a LOT of money to charity. again, doesnt negate it, but shes not just hoarding money like some other billionaires.
- everyone releases tons of variants, not just her. its normal. she doesnt do it to block other artists. if other artists cant beat her for the top spot, thats not really her fault.
- also, she didnt sue olivia rodrigo, that was a guy from paramore. olivia added the credit preemptively after the paramore suit
there are absolutely valid criticisms that can be made of her, and again you dont have to like her. i just wanted to share some more information and i encourage you to do research on claims when forming an opinion

she's not. there's an incredible power imbalance. her team knows she has fans who will defend her no matter what. the problem is there's millions of them. which means there's thousands of bad apples with no boundaries who are willing to do some pretty inhumane stuff to people just because they're not a fan. (ex: doxxing and murder threats)
it's honestly kind of sad because most people get stuck at the age they got famous. and it shows with her.

not to mention the racist dog whistles in her last album, which when black women point it out, they get called overly sensitive or reaching or sexist.
and to be really really honest...she uses the exact same marketing techniques as trump. once someone pointed that out, i cant unsee it, that says everything. even down to starting a conspiracy that anyone who criticizes her must be a bot account and should have their account suspended or whatever. she's completely out of touch. always has been. she just hid it well.
