This basic crepe batter recipe is simple and versatile, perfect for both sweet and savory crepes. Enjoy them for breakfast, brunch, or dessert!
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 2 large eggs. 1 1/4 cups milk. 2 tablespoons melted butter. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon sugar. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: Put the flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl and mix them together with a whisk. Put the eggs in a different bowl and beat them. Then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Combine well. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ones while whisking all the time to keep the mixture from getting lumpy. Take the batter out of the fridge and let it sit for 30 minutes. Put a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and use butter or oil to lightly coat it. Put a small amount of batter into the pan and swirl it around to cover the bottom evenly. Wait about one to two minutes, or until the crepe's edges begin to lift and the bottom gets a little brown. Using a spatula, flip the crepe over and cook for an extra one to two minutes on the other side, until it's just barely golden. Add a little more butter or oil to the pan as needed and do it again with the rest of the batter. Put your favorite things on top or inside the crepes, like Nutella, strawberries, or powdered sugar.
