Finally back after a considerably hectic week! Ben from @jurassicjabber, the author of “Escape from the Cretaceous” entrusted me with creating yet another piece for his novel ✍️. The last time I’d drawn Azdarchids was for @ak150884 ‘s Pterosaur kits’ Indiegogo campaign ◻️. I got the opportunity to work on yet another commissioned digital illustration of the Omegaraptor. The client had envisaged a female latching on a palm tree while camouflaged in order to hunt for a flock of blue and yellow macaws. 🌴🦜🌴🦜🌴🦜🌴 I got to experiment a little bit with this one and tried out new techniques. The most challenging aspect was of course the very dense foliage that I had decided to go for ✍️. The macaws were very fun to draw and helped me to understand the bird anatomy more. Still continuing to work on more projects. Thankfully the month of May is really keeping me busy as this year’s algorithm isn’t doing me any favors at all. The Night Feeder of Cretaceous China 🌕🌑 This was a really fun piece to work on! ✍️ Yutyrannus is a very unique proceratosaurid Tyrannosaur that’s always a blast to draw. I had this one drawn with a ballpoint pen back in early 2020 and had already envisaged the atmosphere that I was gonna integrate it into, so it was pretty fun to revisit it and create a proper digital illustration 🦖🖼. The horror feel aspect and the piece overall was inspired from a piece by one of my favorite works from @fredward95, which was published all the way back in 2010. Could this be the most ambitious crossover in history?! Well it may just be! Primitive War meets Jurassic Park! 🌴🦖🦖🌴 The idea came to me when I saw other crossovers that had been done from PW with other novels. The Father Rex is one of the most prominent and notorious dinosaur characters in the series and I thought why not have him face off with the other menacing and brutally awesome male Tyrannosaurus from the biggest dinosaur franchise? And that’s how this illustration came to be. The illustration was firstly drawn on a Brown Ingres toned paper with Pigma pens, Faber Castell pencils and markers, then digitally made into a poster with Photoshop CC. 🖊🖌🖍 Hope you guys dig it! After having watched Godzilla vs. Kong and having absolutely loved it, I’m now addicted to drawing Kong, lol. Here we have the absolutely ferocious female Tyrannosaurus completely wrecking its full grown and experienced male opponent.
