Blue being worried about him is adorable, but Delta pouncing on Owen should not be interpreted as “the other raptors were vicious monsters that would kill a packmate given the slightest opportunity.” Baby predatory animals play-attacking their parents is completely normal, even for domesticated kittens and puppies, and acting like a wounded prey animal to teach their chicks to hunt definitely seems like something raptors might do in the “wild.” The raptors in JP are also consistently portrayed as being more than smart enough to learn things like the falconry bracer being okay to attack even if Owen wasn’t intending to teach them that.
