(looking in the mirror) wow this character design really communicates nothing. garbage silhouette and shape language. definitely needs to be redesigned.
ok so this is another long shot but a few years ago there was a twitter post (in japanese i think?) that had measurememts for how to make this book stand thing out of cardboard that you could use to double up books and use up more space on shelves
back then i made a bunch of these but by now i lost the pic and dont know how to find the original post anymore
if it comes down to it i can just take one apart and get the measurements from there but i would be very grateful if anyone happens to have the original post or something similar??
don't mind how long it's been since i made this post, anyway i realized that i don't even need to take one apart to get the measurements when i can literally just unfold it and refold it /FACEPALM
so anyway here is the diagram for anyone else who is interested!!
this requires pretty big carboard pieces, if you have a really big box or something you can make it from one piece, but if you don't, you can also just make each of the pieces individually and then tape them together
and then in the end you put it together like this!!
and then when you make a bunch you can put them all next to each other and stack your books like crazy
EVERYONE START GETTING MORE USE OUT OF YOUR SPACE NOW!!!!
i absolutely love this but also i just spent a lot of money on ikea shelves and carefully got extra/spare shelves such that i can have all the shelves be too short for this. but actually this is really clever and i might switch to taller shelves done like this.
These wonderful people have a single braincell to share but unfortunately none of them are using it

"I asked chatgpt-"
Well I asked the host of the community radio station of a small desert town and he said "Don't let numbers tell you what to do. You are blood and earth, not theory and chalk", so maybe think about that.

everytime i see like. tumblr queers or people like that in real life and they always talk about "haha im so autistic" i think about my little brother who will probably never be able to drive a car and who has felt separated from his peers in school for his whole life. or i think about my uncle brock who cant speak and can only make noises and bang his hands together in a sensory seeking way. i think about my clients some of whom live in their own filfth and just need someone to help them . i think we've watered down autism too much and i know its a spectrum and i know a lot of people do have it but then you hear other people go like "why would you complain about having autism its a superpower!" and i think oh so youre the worst ever.
Being neurodivergent is not quirky. I get why people who are neurodivergent portray it that way sometimes, it's almost a coping mechanism, and I believe that although self-diagnosis isn't sufficient it can be a step to getting help you need. I self-diagnosed with ADHD and guess what it was so validating and that's why some people do it but there are still some people who romanticize neurodivergency when in reality some people might have "superpowers" but it can also SUCK
My little sister is constantly told not to talk to herself or that she's wrong for repeating things from YouTube videos as a way to express herself because she has echolalia. We both get easily disappointed at plan changes.
It's so hard for her to do some things and I'm "hIgH-fUnCtIonIng" so sometimes my executive dysfunction and sensitivity to plan changes is the ADHD and sometimes it's my fault.
If neurodivergency is a superpower then the world is fricking kryptonite.

BREAKING NEWS: screenshots from your phone not an appropriate format for submitting work in college classes.
my partner was a TA for an intro-to-subject course in grad school. finals week rolls around and the students are required to submit this big module assignment they've had like a month to do for a decent chunk of their grade. if you've submitted everything, you'll see a summary screen with a star beside each module name showing it's been completed.
an hour before the assignment deadline, he receives an email from a student claiming they completed the assignment, but the system is not allowing them to submit. there's an image attached to the email. partner goes to open what he assumes is a screenshot of that summary page.
instead, he sees that the student has taken a photo of their laptop from about 2 feet away, with that page open. strange, but it wouldn't be the first time a college freshman has lacked the tech literacy to take a screenshot. he almost doesn't look twice at it, but he realizes something about it just feels a little bit...off. so he zooms in.
the student had CUT STARS OUT OF CONSTRUCTION PAPER and TAPED THEM TO THEIR LAPTOP SCREEN BESIDE EACH MODULE NAME. you could see where they actually had completed the first couple of modules, but the stars for all the subsequent ones were like, double the size of the first two and exactly as uneven/irregular as you'd expect if you were freehanding them with scissors.
probably would've been quicker and easier to just photoshop them in but no, this student took a refreshingly creative, arts-and-crafts approach to getting an academic misconduct case

Diana please
One of the reasons people headcanon Grace as aromantic is the unfortunately realistic scene where they go "you don't have a family or a loved one" as if that's enough of a justification to send him on a suicide mission. As if not having a family makes Grace inherently less valuable and means he should be more willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
Grace wasn't sad and lonely, he was happy, he had a good life, he very much did not want to die. They have to do a looney tunes chase sequence and drug him because Grace was *very* unwilling to be the sacrificial lamb. Humanity's savior was dragged kicking and screaming into the role and called selfish for daring to be a coward, as if most of us wouldn't be.
And then he befriends Rocky, who never demands a sacrifice from him, who willingly prolongs his journey home so Grace can go back to his. Rocky has a mate back home and his species depends on his return, and still risks his life to save his squishy human friend. And Grace returns the favor.
And thus the power of friendship saves two planets.
