I wonder what meaning Grace's name holds when spoken in Eridian. Like, I keep thinking about when they first introduce themselves, whilst still working on developing the translator. Rocky's name, as long and drawn out as it is, almost certainly cannot be directly translated to 'Rocky', because it exists in a completely different cultural and linguistic context. As Grace says when they first meet, he calls him Rocky because, well, he looks like a rock, and Grace doesn't yet have any additional context for what the sounds that make up Rocky's Eridian name might actually mean, and how or if they could even be directly translated into English. I wonder then, what Rocky called grace in Eridian, when he had yet to gain any additional context for what the sounds that make up his name mean. If Rocky is called Rocky because he looks like a rock, did Rocky follow the same logic when naming Grace in Eridian? What does Grace look like comparatively that Rocky could name him after? Did he just come up with something random on the spot? I'd love to know if Grace's Eridian name could be directly translated and what meaning it might hold on Erid.
