If you don’t have anywhere to wear a very specific piece you have in your wardrobe, grab a friend or three and host a “soirée.” Get some $5 sparkling wine or grape juice, some cheese or cocktail onions or grapes if you don’t eat cheese and make a Playlist and just walk around one of your homes being fancy together. It’s nice to go out but if you can’t, don’t let that stop you.

You missed out on that one year when the California Raisins were the dominant cultural force with multiple lines of toys, cartoon series, and each new California Raisins cartoon was a major event.

To be clear I Heard It Through The Grapevine was not written to sell raisins, that would be fuckin’ wild, it’s an old classic motown song from the 60s. It was however used in California Raisins commercials in the 80s, and a pop version was covered by a raisin-based recording group which had been created for the same reason. (Think the Gorillaz but…….. raisins.)

All of the behind the scenes stories about Andre the Giant were adorable like this, Apparently Wallace Shawn is deathly afraid of heights, so he was freaking out while they were doing the scene scaling the cliff and Andre was like “it is okay, I’ll keep you safe.” there’s a behind the scenes thing on the DVD and everyone is choked up and misty eyed when they talk about working with him.

Andre the Giant was a radiant human being.

I’m so glad he gets to go down in history as everyones favorite giant. What a legacy!

It should be known that when he got back to wrestling after the movie came out he was constantly pulling other wrestlers into the locker room where he had a tv set up with a copy of the movie so they could watch. He was desperate for the guys to see it and he really wanted their honest opinion on his acting.
