Was Pedro so hard up for socialization that he was traumatized and felt he couldn't let her go?
Wouldn't be surprised if that's not big part of it all. He's bad at being alone but also being bad in holding a relationship, so maybe having Coco around almost all the time is the best thing he thinks he can have as emotional support?
Honestly I could see it. Maybe there's a comfort knowing he's paying her to be there so he knows he's never alone?
But I don't get what she gets out of it besides money. It's very strange. It's not a normal job in the slightest. Which is why so many of us are convinced she's in love with him
