A little thing I've noticed about very specific certain multiplayer games where the players are supposed to inhabit a "blank slate" player character to act as their vehicle of interaction it usually comes in one of 3 flavors.

1) completely generic white guy.

2) a person fully garbed head to toe showing absolutely no skin and they tell you isn't gendered but is still given a fully masculine body with no option to alter its shape

3) something not even really recognizable as a human. More of a approximation of something with two arms, two legs, a head and (maybe) a face.

All of them will generally share the trait that differentiated your blank slate from other players is done via dressing them up with clothes colors or accessories.

Generally this doesn't get remarked upon at all by people playing the game.

And then there's Satisfactory where there are numerous people on the community page saying that they loved the gameplay but are bothered by the fact that unlike other games the devs of this one made their "blank slate" player-character models all explicitly women but also not super femininely rail-thin.

And a bunch of guys don't know how to cope with being not only "forced" to play as a girl but also one that isn't really designed to be sexy.

I dunno, I just think it's neat.

people aren't even exaggerating indeed is literally like that. walmart attendant $13 an hour, target attendant $13 an hour, AI dick sucker $40 an hour, home depot attendant $13 an hour, guy who designs bullets that can only kill children $160k a year plus benefits, gas station manager $18 an hour

#before i got my masters degree and i was on the job hunt i must have seen like 20 or 30 some job posts for being a prison guard #it was nuts and that was only like 6 years ago #i cant imagine what it looks like now

so ive been meaning to do this poll for a while because my hypothesis is that seattle is the most Tumblr city, likely in the entire world. tumblr has a huge american majority userbase obviously, but just for comparison going forward, only 0.22% of the american population lives in seattle. as of this reblog, this poll is showing 4% of respondents are seattleites. given, this isnt scientific at all, because my blog just has a lot of seattle connections and seattle followers, but it's still an impressive bias

#nicki minaj could have had a much longer career if she hadnt married a pedo #but also if she hadnt trapped herself/gotten trapped in the persona of being a woman who's 'One of the Boys' ™️#like i think she got caught up in the rap game right as the gangsta rap that made Dre and Snoop and Ice Cube and even eminem big #was just starting to die #so she put in all this work to have gangsta rap credentials and then the game moved on in a lot of different directions #you got mumble rap and pop rap and drill and a bunch of old names retired all at once and a bunch of new names were coming up #i dont know why it went the way it did but i genuinely think that if minaj had started hitting mainstream like 6 years earlier she'd be huge #instead i feel like she got an entire rap career in about half the time she should have had because her genre started dying #practically immediately after she got her name in the top spot #the rap game had moved on before she got a real chance to be part of it and i think thats kind of sad #i think we could have gotten to see some really powerful art from her about the rap game and what its like coming up as a woman
