1. Pay the extra fee to get max passes on your phone. It will save you a massive amount of time.

2. Get one of the unofficial apps (we used Lines for Disneyland by TouringPlans.com) you can get customized itineraries based on which attractions you are interested in and minute to minute updates on line times all over the park. Not all the attractions are busy at the same time! This will help you avoid the worst of the crowds.

3. Plan out your snack breaks when you can. Dont be hangry on space mountain!

You’re allowed to be tired, even if you haven’t “done” anything and you’re allowed to be tired even if you did less than someone else.

Go make your bed (seriously, it takes like five minutes and you’ll thank yourself later)

Give someone a compliment. It could be a family member, a friend, or a stranger (it could make their day!)

Opening up about our mental health and starting conversations with those around us, can let them know that THEY TOO can discuss their feelings, it’s one small thing we can do to try and stamp out that stupid stigma that says those of us that struggle are weak. We are not, we are just struggling.

Tues., Apr. 11 is National Barbershop Quartet Day, and you may have recently seen CBS This Morning with Deke Sharon, James Corden and Neil Patrick Harris channelling Broadway, NBC’s TODAY show featuring “Instant Classic” during 2016 Internationals, and/or the 2016 Fox & Friends national quartet celebration – all segments honoring the uniquely American a cappella art form.

Based in Nashville, TN, the worldwide Barbershop Harmony Society aims to remind people of the importance of one’s pure voice and the impact it can have on culture and entertainment. They have comprised five ways to celebrate what has evolved into the most diverse collective in the world with thousands of members of different generations, race, religion and sexuality – all together thanks to the sweet sound of harmony.

This Summer, the organization will return to Las Vegas, where they previously sold out five nights at the MGM Grand. The 2017 International competition will be held July 2-9 at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood (capacity 7,000).

1. Learn.

Trace the historical roots of the barbershop musical form. Classic articles from ‘The Harmonizer’ unfold the origins of close-harmony in African-American communities.

Explore the history of the Barbershop Harmony Society in words and pictures: the early years, the first invitation, and O.C. Cash telling the story on the radio.

Watch and hear the sound evolve in David Wright’s landmark History of Barbershop Class from Harmony University online.

2. Become a Barbershopper

Whether it’s the Barbershop Harmony Society for men or Sweet Adelines International and Harmony, Inc. for women, there’s probably an opportunity to sing along right in your own backyard. Barbershop has even gone global with affiliate organizations all over the world.

3. Sing!

If you’re already part of an organized quartet (or larger group), take your show on the road! This is a day to sing out loud and proud, so seize the moment to stage a local performance or a surprise pop-up concert in your community. This could also be a great time to plan an event with your local choruses and quartets - plan a joint rehearsal, throw a tag party, or just get together to celebrate Barbershop.

While you’re at it, take a minute to look around and appreciate the path from 1938 to the present. Honor and listen to the longtime Barbershoppers tell “how it used to be.” Invite your singers to share stories about their Barbershop beginnings.
