Rock Lee vs. Gaara went SO hard and was so memorable, it unintentionally tricked an entire generation into thinking Naruto's underlying theme was that effort and hard work ultimately triumph over natural talent. Naruto was, in fact, not about that. It was the opposite, in fact.
are you gonna watch this weird ass movie with me or not

remember when u were like 11 and the only thing u wanted was a lava lamp
Yeah, Iâd have killed a man for this bedroom as a kid
I know i don't really have that much a platform or pull, but i want y'all's help.
As you know, two days ago, that nazi asshole charlie kirk was shot and killed. One of the professors at my uni posted about it and said he wouldn't mourn him and wondered where this kind of response was for the Minnesota rep assassination, school shootings, etc. He didn't even know who the bitch was.
And now he very well may lose his job.
This is such a kind man. When he saw my backpack falling apart, he gave me his old one that normally would have cost 200 dollars. When i couldn't afford the art supplies for his class, he gave me some to keep that i still use. He has been one of the most supportive and understanding professors i have ever had, and he doesn't deserve to lose a job he's had for almost 20 years just for telling the truth and not mourning a man who doesn't deserve it.
Its not my petition, and i know they rarely accomplish much of anything nowadays, but it will at least bring attention to it
Sign it. Spread it around. Reblog this post, get it out there. Please.
Protect the freedom of speech on American campuses - Reinstate Michael Hook!
This isn't hypothetical, folks. The professor has been put on leave because Republican lawmakers had the sheer nerve to demand he be fired for making a not actually especially inflammatory comment on his personal Facebook page. They have no legal standing at all to do that.
Trump doesn't care about petitions.
Universities do.
Other people fired for speaking ill of the dead:
Gretchen Felker-Martin (DC Comics)
Karen Attiah (Washington Post)
Gerald Bourguet (PHNX Sports)
Matthew Dowd (MSNBC)
Anthony Pough (Secret Service)
and JD Vance, vice president representing a party that screams "free speech" every time they want to terrorize a minority group, has told his followers to call the employers of people they see pointing out that maybe we shouldn't be remembering the nazi who bragged about his role in an attempted coup as some sort of great american symbol of open discussion. So. Expect to see more.

with my nakba posts, here's some website recommendations if you want to learn on the history of specific depopulated palestinian areas:
palestine remembered is probably the most famous and comprehensive website with full documentations of former locations and depopulated villages. it also lists information on palestinian refugee camps, guestbooks, and the ability to upload pictures. information on each village varies.
zochrot is an organization dedicated to teaching both palestinians and israelis about the 1948 nakba (which is not covered well if at all in israeli schools, as you can probably imagine), which includes documenting information on villages and even an app. information on each village varies.
the interactive encyclopedia for the palestinian question's places page has some detailed histories and a map as well, but doesn't go into the detail of the last two sites, and doesn't have pictures or sources.
many villages also have their own websites, and many of them are also in english (for example, the one i linked for kafr bir'im). honestly just look up (village name) + website and if it's there you'll find it.
wikipedia also has surprisingly comprehensive coverage of the villages, the articles include a little more of the "war" background than the other websites do.
all that remains: the palestinian villages occupied and depopulated by israel in 1948 is a famous book by palestinian historian walid khalidi which gives a detailed account of what became of 400 different depopulated palestinian villages. it was released in 1992, so it's not current, but many of the things he wrote still hold.
Explore, search and download historical maps and spatial data on Palestine
Paleopenmaps.org also has information about the current status of villages, as well as comparisons of maps throughout the ages

I love the adventure zone. Like I love it A LOT. It made me reconsider and think a lot about storytelling. And hereâs one of my favourite characters! Lucretiaâs just so⌠*shakes fist
Iâm also opening commissions soon so for anyone interested, keep an eye out!
[ID: Fanart of Lucretia from The Adventure Zone. Sheâs drawn in profile from the waist up, facing to the left and holding a gnarled white staff in her right hand. Lucretia is a dark-skinned woman with a long grey, white, and gold headdress covering her hair. It connects to her dress, which is white with a dark grey and gold sash at the waist. Her headdress is pattered faintly with stars. She looks serious. Behind her are two golden full moons layered on top of each other, the smaller moon casting a crescent shadow on the larger one. /end ID]
You know what I think is really cool about language (English in this case)? Itâs the way you can express âI donât knowâ without opening your mouth. All you have to do is hum a low note, a high note, then another lower note. The same goes for yes and no. Does anyone know what this is called?
Also? Pay attention to what your state legislatures are doing. Because, in most cases, state legislatures are the ones who draw up the voting maps.  There have been a LOT of reports of redistricting to ensure that whether a majority of the voters vote for Democrats or not, the Republicans will win actual seats in the midterms.  There are also a lot more bills (some of which have already been passed and/or signed by state governors) to make voting and voting registration harder, especially for younger and minority votersâŚwho tend to vote Democrat.
Which is why Ryan, McConnell and their ilk are so arrogant. They feel that their seats are assured, even if the majority of the voters want them out of office. Itâs the November 2016 election all over. They donât mind having the illusion of elections, but they donât want elections to have any impact. They are in officeâand they never intend to leave.
This is the OPPOSITE of democracy.

My ability to proofread increases by 1000% after I hit âSubmitâ.
this is often because when youâve submitted something (like fanfiction to ao3) it will be in a different font, size and framing than in your word processor. The text will look different in the new environment so your brain stops skipping what looks familiar (like a typo that has been there since the beginning).
So, tip: revise your work in a different font and size. I guarantee youâll catch more typos and mistakes than otherwise.
For all my writers (ones I follow and the ones that thankfully follow me)
Thank god it isnât just me. Definitely going to have to do this!
