I was ironically way more okay with m/m lit and comics revolving around cishet women's tastes back when the fashionable explanation was just that two men together is hot. It was only after the Overton window shifted left enough for accusations of homophobia to seriously start bothering nonfags that we started to get endless thinkpieces about how it's actually Good and Healthy for an entire genre of art about a marginalized group to be centered around the sensibilities and desires of an outgroup composed largely of one of that group's oppressors. And every single one of those explanations has been deeply unconvincing and annoying.
This isn't just an "at least it's honest" argument either; I think "1 man is good, 2 men is great" is legitimately a much better and less ethically fraught argument than "this time I promise we're externalizing our issues through a ravishment fantasy about a marginalized group for the right reasons, also it's feminist because we have removed the misogyny of the romance genre (by removing the women) " like not only is that unbelievably fucked up I also do not believe you.
to be clear though even if we returned to the days of "eh, it's hot" the status quo of m/m lit and comics being one where gay men are treated as unwelcome guests in a genre about them is still like, really bad and homophobic. like trying to fix misogyny by eliminating women from the equation is indeed misogynist but I very much A) do not believe that's really their reason and B) even if it were, I am more interested in gay men getting to have a real voice in these spheres than saving cis women from their own internalized misogyny. very much not my fight or my problem.
my "suicidal hermit" lifestyle has been largely detrimental to my emotional wellbeing
Ichigo's reaction to being potentially turned into the Soul King being "SO WHAT???" is so funny, like "bro, I find out people are gaslighting and using me every third Tuesday and I'm just like 'whatever day in the life of a child soldier' about it. Step it up."

ok so this is another long shot but a few years ago there was a twitter post (in japanese i think?) that had measurememts for how to make this book stand thing out of cardboard that you could use to double up books and use up more space on shelves
back then i made a bunch of these but by now i lost the pic and dont know how to find the original post anymore
if it comes down to it i can just take one apart and get the measurements from there but i would be very grateful if anyone happens to have the original post or something similar??
don't mind how long it's been since i made this post, anyway i realized that i don't even need to take one apart to get the measurements when i can literally just unfold it and refold it /FACEPALM
so anyway here is the diagram for anyone else who is interested!!
this requires pretty big carboard pieces, if you have a really big box or something you can make it from one piece, but if you don't, you can also just make each of the pieces individually and then tape them together
and then in the end you put it together like this!!
and then when you make a bunch you can put them all next to each other and stack your books like crazy
EVERYONE START GETTING MORE USE OUT OF YOUR SPACE NOW!!!!
Beautiful, no notes. (Found it on Facebook, tracked it back to Reddit)
There is something to be said about how the refusal to engage with anti-transmasculinity theory goes beyond the erasure of transmascs.
When you say "masculinity is always rewarded in patriarchal society" you not only ignore the way malgendering is a tool used to harm transmascs, but you also ignore:
The hypernasculinization of black women in order to justify their brutalization
The hypermasculinization of black men in order to sexualize them and justify their brutalization
The brtualization of tomboys and butch cis lesbians for their gender non conformity
The brutalization of cis feminists throughout history for simply trying to gain rights that were seen as inherently masculine to have.
The brutalization of transfems through misgendering in order to justify their brutalization (i.e. calling them predatory men, weaponizing masculinity against them with or without that being their actual presentation)
The misgendering and erasure Gender non-conforming or masculine transfems, noth binary and non-binary
Intersex people that are coerced/medically altared into being assigned female who are marginalized when they present any sign of masculinity
Cis and intersex and WOC (especially black women) who's testosterone levels are used to justify their exclusion from their careers and passions in sports without an alternative place to go
The way masculinity in mentally disabled men, especially black disabled men and boys, intersects with how a lot of mental disabilities are labelled as agressive and dangerous, further justifying these men's brutalization (see: cops killing young black autistic boys in meltdown)
Masculinity is always rewarded in people that society doesn't want to brutalize. Masculinity is a tool to justify the brutalization of people society wants to keep suppressed. To say otherwise is just factually wrong.
And this is just one phrase used to dismiss anti-transmasculinity theory. There is a lot more to intersectionality that needs to be analyzed, not just for the benefit of transmascs, but for everyone.
hate what people did to the dead dove tag
mothers and fuckers of the jury. "Dead dove: do not eat" is a label on a bag in the fridge. It means "the content of this bag is exactly what is labeled". It does not mean "trigger warning uhhh something". In fact, it means the exact opposite of "trigger warning uhhh something", because you use it with other tags. You write a fucked up fic with extreme violence and gore, you tag it as "extreme violence", "gore" and you tag it with "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with emotional abuse, gaslighting and manipulation, you tag it with "emotional abuse", "gaslighting" and "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with your extremely niche kink that appeals to like 3 other people and may skeeve out the rest of the fandom, you tag that with your kink and "dead dove: do not eat". It's so people know you really mean the content warnings.
It's NOT a catch-all term for "uhhh this may be fucked idk". TAG YOUR SHIT GENEROUSLY.
I love when people are weird. Do your thing diva

Ferrero Rocher Bulbasaur 🍫💖
i would like to officially thank sesame for its seeds, its oil, and of course its street
couldn’t leave this in the tags
today's reason I fucking love the open source community: Ageless Linux, a brand new Debian-based operating system specifically designed to break the law by giving children access to computers that explicitly refuse to track their age.
reblog this post to help a child break the law
oh goddamn this whole page goes so hard actually, please go read it. what an impressive, visceral takedown of this dumb law
As of June 29, 2026 the law discussed here is a recently passed California state law (AB 1043) that requires age validation before using a computer connected to the internet. This is expected to happen at the operating system level, when you login to Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.
Ageless Linux intends to force the issue before the California state supreme court, then ultimately (probably) the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). It's a stupid, dangerous law, voted into place by legislators who either don't understand the core issue OR knowingly voted for it because they're assholes.
California is an influential state in the US. Many laws & regulations passed there eventually trickle out to most states. That's why it's worrisome to see this kind of thing rammed through, and why it's important to fight it.
Also, it doesn't matter if you use Linux or not. Or whether you live in California or not. Visit their site, read the text, learn what's going on with access to computing in this hellscape timeline.
#ALSO reminder you can put Linux on a USB drive and use it on basically any machine you have unsecured physical access to
Justin McElroy actually just made a tutorial (part of his "Technically Competent" series of him fucking around with technology) on how to put Linux on a computer using a USB
so what I was referencing with those tags is actually even simpler and easier - once you have your live USB install media loaded like the video details, you can just run the OS right off the USB drive without actually installing it on the computer's hard drive. With most distros you can even save files and have persistent storage that way.
