Do you sometimes struggle in big or small ways in social online gaming worlds (such as FFXIV)?
I know you might be shy to respond to this (I'm shy, too!), but please tell me about your feelings or experiences!
Even if it's just something short (ie. I'm anxious to run roulettes, I nope out of art parties, I wish I knew how to make gaming friends, I'd like to RP but... etc.).
Let me know where you feel social anxiety or introversion causes you to not do all the things you wish you could do in your online game of choice.

Late to the reply (I've been busy with life), but anyway:
I'd say I'm more of an introverted gamer. Before FFXIV, I have been largely playing games alone - most FF games are solo-player, and even mobile games are solo games, too. I'm just so used to play games on my own and I enjoy the freedom to play whatever and whenever I want.
Also, I play on JP data centers, where the culture is different: pugs usually do not talk in the party chat outside of general pleasantries (greetings, apologizing and owning up mistakes) and necessary discussions (such as mitigation plans in raids). You also rarely see people talking openly in public areas using /say or /yell (or /shout), the latter two which are seen as annoying and rude in the JP community. Most people keep their conversations in /tell, /fc, or outside of game such as Discord DMs. Which works for me, since I don't need to respond to anyone unless I absolutely have to.
It's cool to be able to play with friends sometimes, but given my RL schedule and priorities, which compel me to use my precious free time more wisely, it's hard for me to give up my gaming freedom to play with others, unless we happen to want to play the same thing at the same time.
I dunno if it's due to social anxiety or just aversion to socialize with others in general, but I'd say it's been mentally healthier for me to keep my circles small and tight, so that I can focus on the more important things in life. And well, I think some of the things I've seen in this community do put me off quite often, so much so that I prefer to keep my engagement to the bare minimum, and only with select few people or if necessary.

I'm a huge sucker for AUs and crossovers, so I'd love to see your characters in a world other than FFXIV. What are they like in a different universe or timeline? What would they do, and how would they live in this alternate world?

Now that my morning grouchiness is gone and the whole drama has more or less simmered down...
I don't want to sound rude but this is what happens when people don't read and think carefully before they reply, especially to something sensitive and on this month where most people are emotionally charged about the topic. When you put something like that for the public to see, you are bound to get some pretty extreme reactions from others who see it.
At the same time, it's also equally disappointing to see the other side of the argument blowing this up and making it so loud that they were literally rubbing their own ideals into everyone else's face.
You can't control what others do, but that doesn't mean you have no control over what you can do.
As someone who's neither gay nor bi (I'm aroace), I'm just tired of these dramas that are happening in the fandom at least once a month. Also, it's really distasteful to see the more populated ones (in this case, gay and bi) starting a discourse and then forcing the entire community to take sides. I've experienced aroace erasure/rejection both irl and in fandoms so much that I'm already fed up with pride politics at this point. I live by this simple rule: you do you in your own world, and don't be an ass to others (just keep to yourself if you can't be civil about it).
I respect that people have very firm gender and/or sexual coding of various NPCs within their headcanons, but please stop pushing that onto other people. In your world, there's nothing wrong to see the characters as only gay or bi, but for me, I see most characters as aspecs. Also remember that you do not own any of the canon characters—SE does. Do I also need to remind people that they are fictional characters and not real? If you can't be civil about fictional people, how are you even functioning in reality?
I just want to enjoy playing the game, write fics and take gposes, and have fun with others in the community. Why all these unwanted politics?

Just a test shot for the temptations ship to show their height difference, but somehow this turned into some kind of hospitality AU work romance vibe, I dunno how.

When it comes to platonic/friendship pair, the holmesians—Sora and Yiuno—are the first that come to my mind, especially since they are the main characters of my fanfic project. Their relationship was as rocky as the journey they set out on, each of them struggling with their self-identity, inner demons and fears, but they eventually come to terms with who they are and are now close friends whom they know they can entrust their backs to one another.
