Internally I'm Screaming

Henlo, I figured I should make an introduction post of one kind or another. :O

I'm here for brainrot hours when it pertains to FFXIV, FFXV, and my OCs for the most part. I'll post art, I'll post gposes and glamours, screenshots, my housing builds, and certainly I'll be posting my OCs. Also my Quicksilver Dancers brainrot, apparently. But yes, I ship my Primam with Prompto from FFXV because they make me soft and warm.

I go by she / he / they pronouns as I'm genderfluid, and I identify as panromantic / demisexual... though honestly, I have been wondering if I'm simply demi in both departments. I'm half Filipino, half Irish living in America. I'm a childhood cancer survivor, I had leukemia Type ALL, and I'll always be open to answering questions about my experience for those who are curious for whatever reasons they may have.

Despite what my blog description might say, I'll only scream a little if you touch / interact with me. Though I'm doing my best to be more part of the community and make friends. Just know that if you get an ask / like / reblog / reply from @paintedscales, I'm just doing my best. TT u TT

I also help admin the @starlightinitiative alongside my partner and our wonderful mods! Our goal there is to spread cheer and merriment for the season of Starlight Celebration, handing out gifts that can be crafted, gathered, or farmed up! Hopefully our efforts flourish, and we'll extend what we gift out to people into art, writing, and a myriad of other creative things!

mostly because he decided he wanted to appear in my prompto-centric prequel.

but i'm thinking about how he's a captain, which means he's been working under the amicitia family for a while to have gotten a promotion of the like.

we know that mors pulled back the wall initially (and we know that there are inconsistencies where it's claimed that regis pulled it back; however, for the sake of consistency for reimagined, my headcanon is that mors pulled it back, ans regis tried to reinstate it, but it drew upon too much power which resulted in exacerbating his leg ailment of whatever flavor that may be (i'm leaning toward osteonecrosis of his kneecap), and so he had to keep it city-centric unless he wanted to kill himself magically, and that was a no-go purely for noctis' sake, and ultimately the star's). with the wall being pulled back, we know that more than just galahd must have suffered the fallout (i mean, this can also be inferred from the destroyed highways we see around crowe in the kingsglaive movie, but also just the state of some more recent ruins in game). so because of this, i've made drautos a resident of western duscae before he decided to seek out enlisting as a royal guard for the crown.

i think he initially had good intentions. like, his motives may be at a warped and distorted point in the movie, but i think the "it'll end this damn war" was one of the biggest things he believes when he's talking with nyx. so i think that while he initially wanted to fight for lucis in order to avenge his homeland and the people he lost, i do think he may have been swayed by power more than anything.

i think this mostly because of the armor he wields that gives him superhuman-like reflexes and strength, and the fact that what we can infer is that it's 100% a niflheim creation. not going to lie, i do think about this armor a lot and the fact that canon tells us that only the kings of lucis can use magic (and honestly, i do think this is what canon wants us to believe, because it's a strange stipulation when animals can wield elemental attacks, so what would that imply about them?). all of the kingsglaive (including drautos) belives that they all can do what they do as a result of having the king's blessing. so enter this suit of armor ans maybe a cunning niflheim operative showing this to drautos, saying that he can have unimaginable power free from a "king's blessing" that can be used to defend his land and people if he helps niflheim from the inside -- because if he does that, then of course he can have his homeland back. with that added bonus of the armor.

so...maybe he doesn't fully agree with niflheim. maybe he's still pissed at them for their attacks, but...we can also imagine that, like a good handful of kingsglaive members, he's also pissed at regis for scaling back the wall and making decisions that only benefit the people of insomnia. regis is far from being the best king, but his hands are also largely tied by being backed into a corner, and essentially cursed to rapidly aging if he draws upon the crystal's power too much.

drautos also has every right to be angry at the circumstances. i think it's unfortunate that he's very much in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation between insomnia and niflheim -- not that i believe he recognizes fully how steep that is when niflheim's promise is nothing but lies. largely thanks to ardyn's involvement because he's on a path to burn and salt the land for somnus' betrayal.
