lot of Posting going on about discourse this and discourse that and sometimes you’ve got to accept that people have different opinions and that is all so true
but. i need you guys to understand that
the original issue was not about anything other than the fact that it is fucking rude to sneeringly ‘correct’ a screenshot of somebody else’s post.
with their url clearly visible. bc you disagree with their opinions on how two imaginary guys should fuck each other. the whole doubling down and pretending you were just calling out a dangerous scary pro-abuse post is completely secondary to the initial request to just be fucking Nice
i don’t care if you like kink or not i care if you have manners
And again, some fans tend to rely heavily on subtext and “hidden” meanings when interpreting Mike, but when it comes to Will, they often take his statements and experiences at face value if it supports their view of Mike. “You make me feel like I’m not a mistake, like I’m better for being different.” Yet! in Sorcerer, Henry shows Will both the destruction of Castle Byers and him crying in the van - both Mike’s crime scenes. Will then remembers Robin’s words: “I was looking for the answers in somebody else, but I had all the answers.” He needed to stop depending on Mike. He had to understand that his self-worth shouldn’t depend on whether a boy likes him back. He isn’t a mistake, and he doesn’t need Mike to tell him that. It really isn’t that complicated, is it?
But suuuure if every scene has to support the reading that Mike is secretly queer and Will’s soulmate, then let’s take Will’s words literally while ignoring what the story has actually been showing since the end of s2 👍🏻
if u ever want to re-experience that feeling of looking at the pretty popular girls at school and thinking ‘you guys are really mean and you literally don’t have to be’ you can get into a tv show and post about it on tumblr dot com
There is a great irony to be found in the dismissal of critical media analysis from someone who deliberately reframes scenes to force a perspective which supports their personal interests.
OP, would you like to critically analyze my social media post, or is the messaging irrelevant on grounds of writing quality?

Yes they were, and that’s the problem! These writers had specific ideas they were promoting through the hypothetical scenarios and characters they constructed! The show is openly allegorical in favor of monarchism! The defense of genocide is not an accident, it’s the intended function of the story!
“Fans” hassled and harassed the Gachiakuta Mangaka for… protecting her IP, which she has every right to do!
What the fuck?
She asked for official art/logos not to be imitated, and OCs not to be treated like she approves or included in the official tag.
And decent fans started using #GachiakutaOC and #GachiOC—it’s that easy! Just make a simple change to respect the creator.
What the fuck are people telling her “it only got popular bc us fans and our OCs” for! What is with this need to belittle a manga getting published, animated, and a stage play! (You’re literally a fan, and you respect the creator THIS little. You haven’t commissioned them nor bought out their IP.)
She’s had to delete her twitter, and at least one artist has had to distance his name from the series. What is wrong with you people! Allegedly more has happened very recently, but I can’t really find anything on that besides “anti-woke” people complaining about wokeness, and I don’t trust them as a source.
I haven’t even been able to experience this work yet, but I’ve seen that it 1-includes a lot more diversity than typical manga/anime, and 2-flips the “loli” bullshit (someone made a video essay on that and I made a post sharing it).
