For a LONG time I actually was sort of eh about AJ as a character. He didn’t grow on me until I replayed s4 and realized how much of a keeper this kid is! Hes young, hes bright, he wants to know how the world works and how it used to operate. He is determined to learn all he can, for the sole reason of protecting Clem, the one who saved his life more than once and who he sees as a protector/gaurdian.
He acts so grown up, I mean...how many 5 years olds are a good shot let alone are allowed to use a gun. AJ knows deep down hes just a kid and does many things children his age usually do. For example Instead of using the term ‘walker’ AJ refeers to them as ‘monsters’. It took me awhile but I noticed how this shows that AJ retains some mentality of what a normal child his age would.
Why I like AJ is his weird mix of being extremely dark and mature for his age but still being a young kid, and learning how to live in this world. I hope at least some of this made sense!
