Why is ambien still on the market? Every story i read are dangerous, financially destructive, or just plain unbelievably ridiculous parasomnia episodes. I never want to take it myself. Last time i stayed up too long after taking nyquil, a minor cold medicine, i could smell colors. I cant imagine how ambien would wreck me.

The thing i like most about manhattan: it's so walkable that you dont realize you walked fifteen miles until your legs are screaming.

Im currently in new york city. Took the metro up to central park and walked around for two hours, then back down to chinatown to get some takeout. Today has been good.

My son slept for exactly six hours. How he has energy is beyond me. Then again, i cat-napped for only one hour (long drive). Im trying to stay engaged but im actively falling asleep intermittently at breakfast right now.

I fixed my toilet with my husband's help (needed him to lift it) after my son flushed two toothbrushes (yeah not just his but mine too). Took it off, unclogged it, put new bolts and a wax ring down, and put it back in place with the new bolts. And so far no leaks. When you cant afford a professional, you quickly learn how to diy this stuff.

Kids these days are out of control. I say this as nicely as possible. I have a situation where my only toilet is broken at home. So im forced to leave and go to other places to use one. Getting it fixed this weekend though. This morning, i was at a gas station and went in just as too little girls were coming out only to find theyd locked every stall. I thought they maybe locked one or two because i saw them crawl out. They were old enough to know you shouldnt do that. They both looked in the 5-9 range. Not a funny prank. What if someone is sick, or has a disability that impairs their ability to hold it, or has an issue like chrons disease or interstitial cystitis? They couldve made someone soil themselves if i hadnt walked in, caught them, and informed an employee. A funny prank is dad pees on his socks because you plastic-wrapped your own toilet, not locking random strangers out of public toilets. Shame on the dad. Shame on the mom. Shame on them.

Opinion: i dont let my son watch cocomelon because ive heard too many stories of kids having meltdowns about having to turn it off to do simple things like eat dinner. Its designed to flood the brains of our littles with massive amounts of dopamine, which is why they sit and watch. The minute something that doesnt give them that reaction takes place (like eating dinner, getting ready for bed, doing school work), they switch off and cant self-regulate in meaningful ways (like sitting still, managing emotional responses, listening to instructions). Its digital crack for toddlers. So my son will never have it played in his presence (knowingly because he has more than one caregiver during working hours). My mom doesnt even let him watch "little angel" anymore because despite being roughly 1.5-2, baby john never suffers consequences for poor behavior. That teaches toddlers that they can get out of trouble with "no i just baby i no understand". Brain rot, both of them.
