I haven’t done a LOT of writing projects yet, but I figured I’d start up a masterlists of the stuff I have done. I’ve also included some “Random Tumblr Writes” as I call them; responses to existing posts where I wrote something story-like to add to the idea. Also, in case it wasn’t clear, all of these are based on the show “Supernatural”. And thus far, they are all safe-for-work. (If that ever changes I’ll specify it in that fic.) Dad-King-Of-Hell Sam - Spawned from an idea proposed by @semirahrose after 14X1 about how Sam is now the defacto ruler of hell. (And honestly, a LOT of us were on the same wavelength here. *LOL* But their post is the one I wrote this on.)
Tree-Impala - Inspired by a picture of a tree growing out of a car looking suspiciously like Baby, posted by @urufixx and then an actual SPN fic based on that which @nyxocity posted in response. I then continued the story as I felt inspired. Involves Sam and Dean long dead, and Chuck (before his ultimate douche-reveal happened, so, definitely AU now)

I feel like we don’t acknowledge enough how impressive it is that sam single handedly cured that virus at the start of season 11 and saved that town all while being actively infected himself

Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):
“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.
“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.
“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.
“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”
“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”
“There’s no dialogue tag after this sentence, so end it with a period rather than a comma.” She frowned, suddenly concerned that the entire post was as unasked for as it was sanctimonious.
Wait a fucking second… This is different in English than it is in German! I’ve not been doing it wrong my whole life (but I have been doing it wrong for as long as I’ve been writing in English lol). I did a sanity check with my copies of Lord of the Rings, and look:
Same line, but in English the comma is inside the quotation marks, in German it’s outside.
