being an athletic prodigy is a marketable quality on its own only if you’re a man. but not only do women have to be ten times more talented than men, they’ve also got to be pretty to be marketable. and marketability is everything in this sport. maya (and all these women) deserve so much better.

Also (while I'm on my soap box) I'm terrified Alisha will be abandoned the same way Maya has been. She's having one of the most (if not the most) dominant title charges in the series history and is notably absent from press about the series (tatler) or partnership campaigns (abh).
