i did! an absolute joy to hear him talk as always, but weirdly he was almost professional for once and didn't talk about piss at all

it's funny because i do actually think that he could've had another shot at a top team (i mean we know he turned down red bull before he resigned with williams in 2024), but i actually don't think he wants it and i think it's easier for him to believe that his time has come and gone. i wish it wasn't true! and i was so mad at him at the time! but i think he's at a place now where he values long term job security and his mental health more than winning a race (sad!)

williams gives alex a lot that a top team wouldn't. he has the status and support within the team to manage things the way he wants to, and that's probably good for maintaining a life outside of the sport. he does media on his terms, he has the people he wants around him, no one is coming for his drive, etc etc. the price he pays is that every weekend he's in the torment nexus but when that's the expectation level, maybe that's not so bad either, idk. that's his torment nexus, it's comfortable and he's lived there for longer than anyone else
