Just once I'd like to see a moderate or left legal organization defend women in these cases rather than some far right "sanctity of life" shitbags. I don't blame the mother and daughter for going with them if they're the only ones who will represent them. But ffs the cowardice of the left in all this is shameful. On average rapists who target boys and men are given tougher sentences than rapists who target girls and women. I’d say it’s more than just hundreds if systematically rapists are punished more severely if they target boys and men, considering most judges giving these tougher sentences for anyone who targets boys and men but a more lenient sentence if they target girls and women are men themselves.

It’s not just the bias, multiple US states like Texas actually have laws that punish sex crimes more harshly if the victim is the same sex as the perpetrator.

i think one of the worst things the left wing internet ever did was push the idea that oppression is basically a virtue, and being oppressed is a sign of your morality. it has made it like…impossible for some of you to hold the idea that most people are privileged in some ways and oppressed in others. AND a lot of you seem to have it in your mind that terrible people cannot be oppressed, and that oppressed people cannot do terrible things, which is a dangerous rhetoric to hold imo.
