By this logic, do we eliminate the disability based subdivisions within the Paralympics? They're inherently unfair, after all. Hell, let's throw out the entire Paralympics! Let's abolish it! They should just compete with abled athletes, after all. That's what's fair and honorable!

We can also just stop dividing sports that require the same abilities. Like, why is there beach volleyball and regular volleyball? There should only be one? Who cares if the athletes that trained all their lives for a specific subdiscipline get fucked? This is all about seeing who is Objectively The Best. It's not like sports and sporting competitions are very limited constructed scenarios with a very limited set of rules that change all the time and aren't just based on pure ability. No, no, this is about who is The Strongest (mostly in sports better suited for cis men). So let's do away with all that.

Reminds me of this shit I just saw. Yeah it’s easy to say “it’s not a big deal. Get over it” about something only women are affected by because women have been excluded, expected to accommodate other people, and silenced our whole lives. What if there were no special Olympics and people with disabilities were just expected to compete alongside abled athletes? Then when they expressed their grievances the response was “it’s just sports it’s not that serious. Just say you suck and take the L.” Why should exceptional female athletes have to be treated like they’re mediocre and risk sexual harassment and physical violence just so you can feel like “girls are exactly the same as boys” when that is not the case? It’s a very stupid hill to die on. Admitting women are different from men does not mean admitting women are inferior.
