vague reminiscing and nostalgia from your memories: you've probably heard a song from a cheesy romance movie you watched as a kid, or from a cd that you've forgotten and misplaced by now. you can't remember what memory it's from, but it brings you to a simpler time and there's a part of you that misses it all.

to seeking comfort quietly and giving your melancholy self a tight hug: for the thoughts you don't want to share, where you find you don't quite fit in the world right now, where you want to disappear, to fade away for just a moment. but you're trying, you're still trying, and that's something (and i'm here for you).

travelling to a destination of sunny skies and infinite ocean blues: it's the freedom of not having anything holding you back as you have the world at your fingertips. this is the moment you come to realize that for all the bad days you have, it's given you a newfound love for all the days that are good.

learning to be okay with only half your soul: your life is made of memories, of souls sharing pieces of each other. but no one has ever told you of what happens after, when you are left with only half your soul and wishing for something you'll never get back. maybe one day you can look at your past fondly without it hurting so much.

overlooking the city cast in a warm summer glow: sitting on the roof of a building in the neighbourhood you grew up in, you speak of nothing and everything with your close friend, showing them the new you, the real you. maybe this time you'll say something, or… maybe not right now, not when you're both not ready to face each other's feelings.

travelling down to the underworld to bring them back: you sing to the gods of your loving sorrow, of their untimely demise as they weep about your truth. given a second chance, you lead them back to the surface but as you hear their broken yearning, you are compelled to look back, to prove your love, only for them to be taken by the abyss once more.

wanting to give your love but it's not meant to be: it is unfortunate circumstances, it is the way the pieces fall, of feelings that do not match, of the way your lines converge with theirs once only to never touch again. they already have your love, but they will never know that. it is the hard lesson of learning that you will never be together.
